Critter Crunch dev shows Superbrothers

Intriguing iOS adventure due next month.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, the new title from Critter Crunch developer Capybara Games, is due out on iOS devices next month, if we've correctly deciphered its cryptic new trailer.

According to Capybara's website, it's "a 21st century update to the pioneering works of Miyamoto, Mechner and Chahi."

"It's a mix of laid-back exploration, careful investigation and mysterious musical problem-solving occasionally punctuated by hard-hitting combat encounters."

Can't argue with that. The weird and frankly rather gorgeous clip below should give you some idea of what to expect.

Toronto-based Capybara Games is perhaps best known for the delightful match-three puzzler Critter Crunch, which hit the App Store and PlayStation Network in 2009 to considerable Eurogamer acclaim.

Its last effort, puzzle/RPG hybrid Clash of Heroes: Might & Magic was equally ace, so you may want to keep Superbrothers on your radar.

As for when you'll be able to get hold of it, we're not entirely sure, but the trailer ends with the message, "When???????????? Around the Vernal Equinox."

A quick trip to Wikipedia suggests you should mark 22nd March in your diary.
