Tom Clancy sale assaults Xbox Live

Plus, Pac-Man going cheap.

Next week sees a host of Tom Clancy-related titles attempt to sneak up on Xbox Live users and pry open their wallets, armed only with a set of price discounts.

From 21st to 27th February you'll be able to take advantage of the following offers, as detailed on Major Nelson's blog:

  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 Co-op Collection, 200 points (50 per cent off)
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 Co-op Collection 200 points (50 per cent off)
  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction Deniable Ops: Insurgency 400 points (50 per cent off)
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter Chapter 2, 300 points (50 per cent off)
  • Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. Air Supremacy, 400 points (50 per cent off)
  • Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 All-in-one Pack, 400 points (50 per cent off)
  • Tom Clancy's EndWar Escalation, 200 points (50 per cent off)
  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, 600 points (50 per cent off)
  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction Outfit, 200 points (50 per cent off)

Should you survive that onslaught, Pac-Man wades in the following week with an army of demented, blood-thirsty ghouls in tow. From 28th February you'll be able to grab the thoroughly awesome PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX for 400 Points, down from 800.

Loved the deniable ops in Conviction, so will have me some of that DLC :D
Also, Pac-Man for 400 points...whoever does not buy it at that price needs to be shot. Survivors shot again.

This just made me realise that Ubisoft are taking their sweet time with Future Soldier, which I really cannot wait for. GRAW was the first 360 game that I truly enjoyed from start to finish, it was an amazing game and demonstration of the 360's power.

If I ruled Eurogamer with an iron fist (And I will, someday). This would be emblazoned across the top of the page for that entire week.

/Also, heads on pikes, those are always tasteful. Go well with the candelabra and organ.

I don't get why TheDriftter got negged?

Cos mentioned PSN in X360 section? Man he just encouraging PacMan to be purchased, it's been available sure on XBL lot longer than PSN, but there are still quite a lot not got themselves PMCE DX yet!

It's not off topic entirely as mentioned at end of article, and we don't need to be so paristan, we all are gamers at heart, whatever our preferred platform.

Neg away and show partisanship or gives a thumb up for the brotherhood of gamers!

Okay, I know I'm going to be at risk of a serious negging here but I don't get why this is newsworthy. I'm not saying it shouldn't be reported because it doesn't hurt me at all, I'm just curious what people think of posts like this (also I'm working a night shift and I'm bored as hell). Sales are so frequent these days and this one doesn't seem that great compared with say the 75% off Supereme Commander 2 bringing it down to £2.49 on Steam today or Just Cause 2 for £5 yesterday that went unreported. What's more this apparently a gated sale that's only open to people who've taken out a subscription to a service which makes it irrelevant to those who don't subscribe and those who have subscribed will surely hear about it from the service.

Ah okay, that does make sense since in a way you're buying into that service when you buy the console reporting on the state of such things is reporting on the wider state of the console wars hmm... okay. +1 to you Gastrian. :-)

No worries, I'm sure I'll hit -10 before the day is thought. I think my comment could easily be seen as trolling or an off topic (since it's discussing the decision to publish rather than the news itself) attack on the editorial staff which is something that it's fair enough for people to not want to read. I think a neg is reasonable enough, posting an unreasoned response telling me to stfu would be the point at which someone crosses the rudeness line in my opinion.

Do people still play the GRAW games online? I used to love jumping into those co-op missions with random people, especially trying to get that achievement for defending an area for an hour (which I never managed - on one attempt we failed with about 40 seconds remaining; one of the best online experiences I've ever had, that)

Why don't they do Steam like discounts on the Games on Demand Tom Clancy titles? Surely they aren't selling very many. At £20.00 a pop they could lower em to £10 and sell a ton. And most of those titles are out of print.

Just bought the Splinter Cell DLC last week for 800 points Doh!
  • dagas #17 1 year ago

Great, I've been waiting for a discount on Pac Man before buying it, didn't think it would happen so soon.
  • lordofthedunce #18 1 year ago

    well, Clancy that.

i could be wrong but in that whole list is there only 1 full game? and thats an xbox original game. sometimes i dont get the sales XBL offers. they are seriously bad sometimes. half price DLC for a game thats been out ages. jeez half price the full games ffs. then people may buy the games they missed when they came out and anyway most of them are in bargin bins in shops or online for next to nothing and we're expected to pay 15/20 quid for them. stupid. also, how many people still own half those games? MS do some bundles with the full game and some DLC for a reduced price (half price). Even that christmas/new year countdown offers they had... what a load of crap offers. i at least expected a half price retail game of our choice or something but nope it was rubbish XBLA games or once again really old DLC. sorry, rant over.

"Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter Chapter 2, 300 points (50 per cent off)"

Is that an expansion campaign for GR:AW 1? Me and the missus loved that game so much we have two copies so we could both play while she lived in sheffield :)

isnt chaos theory getting an HD make over soon?
if so you would be better off waiting
I would get it again as the brilliant co op mode is worth the money alone!
