Felicia Day in Dragon Age mini-series

Plays an elf.

Felicia Day, star of comedy World of Warcraft Xbox Live series The Guild, plays an elf in an upcoming Dragon Age II live action mini-series.

In Dragon Age: Redemption Day stars as an Elven assassin called Tallis. Day is also in charge of scriptwriting duties.

The six-episode mini-series will air online later this year, according to USA Today.

"Tallis is headstrong, she fights dirty, and she has a really sarcastic sense of humour," Day said. "I wanted to bring a modern sensibility to a fantasy character in a fantasy world."

In the show Tallis goes on a quest to capture a magician, gathering a party of helpers along the way. "She can't accomplish her mission alone, so finding allies is tricky. The success or failure of the mission will have a big impact on her future and her freedom."

Independence Day associate producer Peter Winther directs and Lost's John Bartley is cinematographer. "They are going to take this a step above what we have seen on the Web before," Day said.

Redemption is just one property in the expansive, multi-tiered Dragon Age franchise. Dragon Age II is due out next month.
