Inversion given UK release date

TimeShift dev's gravity gun romp.

Inversion, the next game from TimeShift maker Saber Interactive, will release on 8th February 2012.

Very specific for a game nearly a year away, Namco Bandai.

Inversion, crudely, is Gears of War with a gravity gun. There is co-op, there are biceps; there is cover and there are bayonet attachments with which to make a point.

"To be perfectly honest, we used Gears as an inspiration. We're not going to shy away from it - it's a good game, and why reinvent the wheel?" Saber boss Matthew Karch asked Eurogamer last year.

"I think what we're bringing new is really on the physics front."

"Yeah, I'm sure some people are going to say that, and that's fine. As long as we can match what Gears is doing... We love that game, so why not?"

It's all gravity.

    As much as i think the game will turn out less-than-good, being a cynical tosspot that i am, i find their blunt honesty really refreshing after all the Acti PR speak.

    Got remotely excited until I actually read the news post. Sigh. And bear in mind this is just a few months after Gears 3. Double sigh.
