Black Ops: First Strike dated for PS3/PC

Sells 1.4 million in 24 hours on Xbox 360.

The First Strike DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops launches on PlayStation 3 on 3rd March, publisher Activision has confirmed.

A firm PC date hasn't been announced, but Activision promised that it would be available before 31st March.

Over on the Xbox 360, which got first dibs on the pack last week, the DLC has set new platform records with more than 1.4 million downloads in the first 24 hours on sale.

Impressive, and not entirely undeserved. Eurogamer's Will Porter awarded it 7/10, proclaiming it "a well-balanced collection of different styles of map."

    Agreed. Watch when Beyond Good and Evil HD is released, it won't even sell a million in 10 years. Also, nice use of the Gold Subscription fee there MS. A month's exclusivity for DLC to a game I don't play and will never play. A new game would be nice.

    Yeah, dark times. Should be some light at the end of the tunnel (Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3 and Batman Arkham City for me).

    Some people are just to stupid to realise that they've bought the same reskinned game since 2007 (COD4) and will buy the next one without ever giving other shooters the time of day!! Activision are smart enough to realise this why can't most gamers?!!

    This dlc admittedly looked really good, but I traded the game and went back to Bad Company 2 instead. Was it good?

    Some people like it, some people don't...I'm personally getting pretty tired of people stalking these threads trolling a title which is obviously incredibly popular, and generally critically acclaimed. Is it really such a big fucking deal? Buy and play the things you like and, unless you've got something interesting or illuminating to say, stop bitching about the things you don't...it's just so boring.

    Kinda brave to try and sell a map pack on platforms which can't access multiplayer features properly at the moment isn't it?

    Fix the bugs first guys, then sell your overpriced DLC.

    When you read all this crap it's hard to believe they'll have another cod churned out later this year.

    I have to say that I'll be well into KZ3 by the time this comes out. I may pick the maps up at some point in the future, but I doubt it. I'm all CODed out tbh.

    0 interest in. I barely touch the game since reached level 50 at late November; I even't finished the campaign. The multiplayer lacks legs: prestige mode is a crap and the lack of objective based modes is a huge weight (yes, despite his 8 mp modes the game is still basically a team deathmach and Camping team deathmatch game, with near to 0 teamwork required).

    Battlefield 3 will wipe the floor with any COD that Activision will release this 2011as Bad Company 2 did with Black Ops.

    I'm sick of reading people moaning on about COD. The new maps are a tad overpriced but they're actually pretty good, much better than the offerings for MW2.

    No doubt the elitist eurogamer posters will be on, calling COD lovers sheep, seems anything popular is for sheep , kinect, cod, Gears, while boring shite like heavy rain, belong good/evil, Ico and the rest , are for the real connoisseurs. Cant you see your sheep but in the dont like anything popular (even when its great) , art house camp.

    That's not fair nor accurate, Toy Soldiers did sell 1 million. Castle Crashers sold 2; Limbo sold 800K. There are other people out there other than Dave, thing is Dave talks louder and is more obnoxious.

    BFBC2 has direct references to COD. The same sort of settings as COD, you save world by shooting the bay guys but half way through you notice you've been betrayed by someone higher up/someone you looked up to and spend the rest of the game righting the wrongs.

    Yeah, very,very different.

    I'm not saying that I prefer COD TO BF but all FPS tend to have the same story and plot. Just like Bioware games have the same standard story with different settings.

    Coolbrittania is not an idiot. BF did not copy COD. I think you will find that type of story is a generic classic for action shooter films. Ever watched The A Team film?

    There were shooters out before COD and BF is very very different. Always has been. The point about COD is that its the same shite every year. Nothing different. No INNOVATION.

    This is why a lot of us are sick and tired of the copy and paste job we call COD. Other franchises have taken leaps in the sequels and made improvements. Acti's game franchises have barely done that. They have slowly added tiny minuscule features that they probably had for the second game, instead they drag it over like 6 years to get there moneys worth. Just like GH and Tony Hawk games.

    actually looking forward to these maps now although the onlines still not great.i tryed getting back into bc2 but just find it shit and frankly a horrible game so been playing 1943,shows how things can be done although limited.but that is just my opinion before anyone gets the hump!

He made a comment about how COD was recycled garabge and asked not to have BFBC 2 used as retort as that would be stupid - I never said it copied. I mentioned how it referenced the game in that game and used the same generic shooter and A-Team story line. to which you agree.
