Two Worlds II UK release date delayed

Well fantasy that.

There's been another UK release hiccup for Two Worlds II; the ambitious fantasy RPG has been pushed back from a 4th February release (this Friday) to 18th February, TopWare Interactive has confirmed to Eurogamer.

That's after slipping from a 25th January date before that, and an autumn 2010 date before that.

Thankfully, the goods are worth the wait.

Wizard-robed Eurogamer reviewer Al Bickham declared: "There is real innovation here, and there are some ballsy forays into game-styles that are way outside the standard tick-list of features for the genre, both online and off. There's also a great deal of absorbing content to enjoy, not to mention consistent, meaningful progression, creative quests, and empowering customisation systems that let you craft your own rewards form a plethora of resources. If you can live with the lo-fi elements, there's an awful lot to enjoy."

Imported the German release months ago, a very solid title improved over the original in eitherway really. Though a game with so much talking they really need to get some better voices.

How can they decide 3 days before release that it needs to be delayed? Confused...
  • Bumbuliuz #3 1 year ago

I have been playing it the last few days. I like it, it's such an improvement over the first one. I'm just happy it was released before christmas where I live.

Again?? And not even a reason to accompany this slap to the face of us UK/Ireland gamers who've been patiently waiting for this to be released over here. This is getting quite ridiculous now.....

Lads get it from Ebay or ?
I got my UK/Pal version back in mid Dec. ALL English. I only paid £38, so you are not getting ripped off. although some greedy wanker wants £150 for the GAME ltd edition...

    @midnight_walker

Can only be issues with the actual production of discs/media at this stage as the game is (and has been) finished for a while. Kinda glad its been pushed back til payday though. I'd have bought this on Friday and left myself short for the rest of the month :o

After the debacle of the first game, I'm surprised to find that I really want to buy the sequel.

Apparently though, *they* don't want to sell me it any time soon. Scumbags. :(

Great was going to pick this up Friday. What a joke, you'd have thought after the first game that they'd make the effort with this release. Now that I have to wait, I may just till it's around £20.

Got mine from Shopto a few weeks ago and it even has a UK Pegi rating on it.
Did they accidentally ship it early? Why is the game being delayed if it's clearly in stock everywhere..
  • Byzanite #12 1 year ago

Got mine from 365games.co.uk before Xmas. For whatever reason they are delaying there was nothing essential missing from my copy.
It is a very immersive, solid game although I havent touched multiplayer yet. Feels like Two Worlds too without the terrible FPS problems of the first.

Shopto have had the PC version available for weeks, fully English too. I bought it and it's good, very hard at times, but good.

Did somebody forget to submit it to the BBFC?
  • apoc_reg #15 1 year ago

I've had this game for ages after importing from Amazon.de

Are they trying to nuke it with all these delays?!!?
  • Accelra #16 1 year ago

Have they patched the game yet since the US launch?

My German copy is a bit shafted at the moment due to the loading glitch around a the mages guild part of the map.
  • JayG #17 1 year ago

Had same problem, but last hot fix patch fixed it. Rarely crashes now.
  • Haloboy #18 1 year ago

Wtf? I've been playing the german english language version the last few days and it's 100% ripe and ready for release. It's gone from being a relatively uncared for to a much anticipated release the last few weeks thanks to lots of positive feedback. And rightly so. I think it's superb.

    Two Words. Release it!

So if Shopto and Amazon has the game in stock, what's the problem?
  • AdamAsunder #20 1 year ago

So they've put it out the same week as MvC3? Well it's going to have to wait now as I can't get both.

Unless my gf is feeling particularly generous for my birthday.

You can buy the PC version now; I got mine on Saturday from a retailer on Amazon who got the European version in stock three weeks early. Cost me £24.53. It can also be bought through a few digital download distributors too, including (I believe) GamersGate and ZuxxeZ.
  • Haloboy #22 1 year ago

Shopto says pre-order. Released in 10 days?

As mentioned it is available to buy right now on Amazon from various outlets for just £26.

I don't understand why it's been delayed, I work in a videogame store and I have sold a copy of this on the 360 and PS3 as far back as December! The actual European disc version.
