SEGA Rally Online Arcade confirmed

First screens race in.

SEGA Rally Online Arcade will be racing onto PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade later this year, SEGA has confirmed.

After tip-toeing around a Korean Game Rating Board listing last week, the publisher has now dropped official details about the forthcoming racer.

It sounds like it will be a straight blend of the storming 2007 console title SEGA Rally and its perennially popular arcade counterpart.

Championship Battle and Time Attack return, along with "an exciting online racing mode that lets players battle it out with up to five drivers around the world". There's also a new achievement system, 13 different rally cars to choose from and online leaderboards.

"We've blended our hit arcade racing series with the best elements from the console versions to bring our fans the SEGA Rally experience in compact, downloadable format," said Haruki Satomi, Vice President of Digital Business at SEGA.

"Whether they're new to the SEGA Rally series or they've participated in countless races over the years, we're confident everyone will enjoy the wide variety of features included in this fan favorite."

No firm pricing or release date info just yet, but you can cast your eyes over the first set of screens below.
