Brink, Rage, Hunted release dates

Bethesda lines 2011 up.

Bethesda has dated three massive games: Brink, Hunted and Rage.

Brink, Splash Damage's gorgeous blend of single- and multiplayer, will be released in Europe on 20th May and in the US on 17th May.

Tom Bramwell last looked at Brink for Eurogamer: "Splash Damage has made popular games before - Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is in the top three most-played online PC shooters to this day, Wedgwood claims - but Brink looks well on course to be its best yet."

Hunted, inXile's co-operative and action packed fantasy dungeon crawler, will be released in Europe on 3rd June and in the US on 1st June.

Tom Bramwell was also the last person to look at Hunted - or Gears of Warcraft as he called it - for Eurogamer: "Hunted: The Demon's Forge is looking violent, deceptively thoughtful and witty. The world may not need another cover shooter, and may not realise it wants more dungeon crawlers, but it's hard to argue with what we're seeing. "

Rage, id Software's eye-popping post apocalyptic shooter, will be released in Europe on 16th September and in the US on 13th September.

Tom Bramwell was also the - wait was is this, a conspiracy? "For now though, as it pretty much always is with this storied developer, it is all about that graphics engine. Staring into the screen and struggling to pick out a single repeated detail, 60 times every second, is almost disorientating. If the kids don't know who id Software any more, they should do by this time next year. "

Bethesda will cap off a blockbuster year with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on 11th November, worldwide. And that, Tom Bramwell hasn't seen.

No need for all the fluff in that news story EG, far too wordy.

I like it! Mr. Purchese has the lean, sparse prose of an old master like Hemingway.

Hmm, well now I just look stuid as it's been ninja edited to include mucho detail.
    Curses.

20th May for Brink. A release date at last.

My pants have gone *ping* in anticipation.

I won't state what the release date for Rage caused........

What an embarassment of riches FPS fans have this year! Will be interesting to see if CoD has anywhere near the pull this year as it did the last few years. There are certainly a lot of attractive alternatives.

Cool. Wish I could stop getting Breach and Brink mixed up though.

I have to give credit to Bethesda for going big this year. I hope it works out in terms of quality.

My wallet and free time are going to take an absolute beating this year. I'm almost getting fed up of all the distractions... it's already started with Dead Space 2 and LBP2 vying for my time. If this continues - as it looks set to do all year - I don't think I'll be very productive. Way too much good stuff coming out.

Let's not even get started on the clusterfuck of joy that is November. New Elder Scrolls, Uncharted, Mass Effect and Batman, all at once? Oh just fuck off the lot of you. Do you want me to get sacked, is that it?

Well, they have all my money now.

May 20th for Brink? A little disappointing considering it was originally slated for Autumn 2010 and was allegedly ready for release too. Here's hoping that they've been doing something worthwhile during the delay. Still stoked for it though, one of my most anticipated for this year.

Rage is looking tasty but after Doom 3 and Quake 4 I'm not sure how the gameplay will hold up. Time will tell on that one.

Hunted, not really that bothered about.

Skyrim, I've got mixed feeling about what we've heard so far, some things I've heard and thought "excellent" and others I've thought "WTF are you doing?" hopefully we'll hear more good stuff between now and then.

It used to be that you had to pick and choose what cruddy downloadable or bargain basement games to play between AAA titles. Nowadays, you have to prioritise which amazing, eye-popping exemplars of bleeding edge tech to play between sleep and work. In some ways I mourn the old days of only one decent game a month, at least I had time to do other stuff!

This is good, I actually want ALL of these games. Good for Bethesda. Slightly Bollocks article though, just the titles and the dates was all that was needed.

2011 is shaping up to be year to remember.

Of course, 1954 would top 2010 for quality video game releases.

Same day as L.A. Noire! Do these publishers have such massive egos that they think it will be fine to release their game the same day one of the biggest publisher/developer (I can't believe 2K are still their overlords!) does.

I don't believe it makes a difference that L.A. Noire is a detective game and Brink is a shooter. Haven't we learned that gamer's time is a higher commodity then their money?

Looks like I'll be "working from home" more often this year.
