Hydrophobia Listening Post launched
Will aid development of future games.
Hydrophobia developer Dark Energy Digital has launched a website designed to gather gamer feedback it'll use to aid the creation of future Hydrophobia games.
The Hydrophobia Listening Post allows users to rate every feature of Hydrophobia Pure, the new and improved version of Hydrophobia released December last year.
The information gathered will help the Manchester studio develop future games in the Hydrophobia universe, it said this morning.
"We launched Hydrophobia Pure after conducting extensive research into the issues players and critics had and the features you wanted to see included," joint creative director Pete Jones said.
"We were absolutely blown away by the response you gave us, and the reception Hydrophobia Pure received. We believe there should be a two way relationship between developer and players, and as such we are committed to continuing the philosophy of collecting and acting upon your feedback to our games."
Simon Parkin awarded Hydrophobia 4/10 in Eurogamer's review. The reception to the watery Xbox Live Arcade game sparked DED into releasing a title update designed to answer criticism from both reviewers and gamers.

Edit: and the process of listening to fan criticism and carrying out their wishes is a behaviour we'd like to encourage. Better sales would do that. The game would get the sales it deserves if the review score accurately represents the game.

Edit: I'd even say that I quite enjoyed the demo, but couldn't bring myself to lay down cash after hearing.... that. *shudders*

I would also like to see a re-review.

In the meantime, is there anybody out there who picked up the game originally and has played through the Pure version who fancies highlighting in a bit more detail whether it's now worth a punt?
Am I right in thinking that the demo pulls down the Pure update, if so I guess I can rate it myself?
Either way with Amazon doing 2100MSP for £14.99 this equates to £2.86 in the sale - I've lost more cash down the back of the sofa so this will be a definite purchase.

Don't get me wrong, I would like to see a re review of this but just asking the question.
