Wesker actor wants Resident Evil 6 role

"You guys could bug Capcom."

D.C. Douglas, the voice actor behind Resident Evil 5 ruffian Wesker, has called on Capcom to cast him in Resident Evil 6.

Speaking in an interview with horror gaming site Hell Descent, Douglas revealed he's interested in reprising the role in a sequel.

"Hell yeah! I know RE6 is in the works, so hopefully I'll get a chance to audition for it...or you guys could bug Capcom into casting me in it! ;-) I'm workin' it, baby!"

Douglas later clarified that his claim that a new Resident Evil game was in production was based on internet rumour and speculation, rather than concrete first hand knowledge.

However, given the series' enduring popularity, you'd have to be a lobotomised cohort of the undead to bet against it. Capcom has referenced the title, with Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi confirming he won't be involved with the next game in the series.

If Capcom is to include Wesker in a sequel, it will have to get creative. Last time out, as you might recall, the poor lad was drop-kicked into a lake of molten lava before being shot in the face by dual rocket launchers.

Hmmm, I think it's time to put the character to rest. An awesome villain no doubt, but he can't keep surviving, especially after Resi 5. Like Snake, too much of a good thing can be a bad thing if you get what I mean. Sometimes its just better to let go. I think the same should happen with Wesker.

I actually doubt that Resident Evil can even survive with the awesomeness of Albert Wester, but that's just me really...

Wasn't there talk of RE6 being a reboot? In which case nothing which has happened before is necessarily canon. Even if it's not a reboot, RE6 doesn't *have* to be set after RE5. There are plenty of other areas of the timeline we could visit instead.

Wesker's cool in the games and everything... but this guy... he doesn't look like an action man, does he. If you stuck him in the costume worn by Shawn Roberts for "Resident Evil: Afterlife" he wouldn't look good in the role.

I actually thought Roberts did a good job in Afterlife. Chewed scenery like it was made from something he liked to eat... like Carpaccio.

For a moment I thought it was the actor who played Wesker in Resident Evil: Afterlife,at which point my reply would have been "I'd rather forcibly insert an entire bag of malteasers up my nose one by one, then headbutt a wall."

Thankfully it isn't anything to do with the bucket of arse film series, but I still think Wesker needs to be put to rest.

So many people whinging about lack of spoiler warnings? Who knew so many were waiting to play RE5, I mean they've only had a couple of years after all.....

P.s. Vader is Luke's father, the bird in the crying game isn't your type after all, and Kevin Spacey is Keyser Soze :p
  • NewbieZilla #12 1 year ago

Lol at the people complaining about spoilers. If you haven't even played 5 yet, I'm surprised you give a toss about 6. It isn't like it came out last month.

I'm amazed that the people complaining about spoilers are able to play any games in the dark, powerless cave they must live in.

As for Wesker in the next game? Fuck off.

Purely for the "I'm workin' it, baby!" comment, this man deserves to never work again.

Not a bad voice for Wesker, but seriously if they brought him back that would be utterly ridiculous even by RE standards.

Also, who hasn't played RE5 yet? Spoilers lol.

    "COMPLETE GLOBAL SATURATION"

*grits teeth* I heard that a million times because my mate is shite at QTE's :|

To be honest, i think they could keep wesker in, Just continue from resi 4

Resi 5 was the biggest pile of guff to come from the resi franchise, Honestly the worst sequel to arguably one of the best games ever made.

bought it played 3 levels, sold it. NEVER looked back. Such a let down.
  • gelf #23 1 year ago

Its time to leave Wesker, I remember being really enthusiastic for when they first brought him back in Code Veronica, now I'm sick of the sight of him.

Failing that bring back the original actor and scriptwriters for the laughs.

Those people who provide voice-overs in Resi games are called 'actors' now? Who'd have thought?
  • Ternon #25 1 year ago

Given how Dead Space thoroughly surpassed Resident Evil series in every way imaginable I think it is time to end it now.
