Evil Ryu, Oni Akuma revealed for SSFIVAE

Will Capcom add new characters to PS3, 360?

New videos have confirmed the addition of Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma to the Arcade Edition of fighting game Super Street Fighter IV.

iplaywinner posted videos of a US play test of the Arcade Edition of the game that clearly show the two in action.

Shoryuken followed up with its own set of videos, showing Ultras and Supers from both characters.

Based on play test reports from Los Angeles arcade Arcade Infinity, Evil Ryu is a high damage, offensive character with low stamina. Oni does medium damage but has higher stamina than Akuma.

Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma follow Yun and Yang as new characters for SSFIVAE, which also features rebalanced gameplay.

The question on the lips of fighting game fans now is: will Capcom bring the Arcade Edition to the home console versions of Super Street Fighter IV?

"It's still a secret," producer Yoshinori Ono replied during last week's Nintendo 3DS preview event in Amsterdam when Eurogamer asked him when the Arcade Edition would hit Europe.

Ono has of course spent the last year tweeting about the Arcade Edition. Back in October he pitched the idea of offering Yun and Yang as DLC for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 gamers to Capcom USA.

Later, when asked for an update on the Yun and Yang situation, Ono cryptically posted, "Hehehe, We are developing SSFIV for Nintendo 3DS just now. Next, we will be..... ;D"

The console version of Super Street Fighter IV arrived on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last year to considerable acclaim. Eurogamer's Simon Parkin awarded the game a mighty 10/10.

I'm am getting really bored of all this cock teasing that Capcom are doing with all their fighters. MvC3 is out next month and we're still being drip fed fighters of that.

Everyone knows the new arcade characters are coming to consoles so stop prattling on about it for months on end get them out and then make a new Darkstalkers.

edit: Oh and the Shoryuken vids have been taken down already.

The leaked achievements suggest so. Its not if, its when.

I agree with you, but TBH at one point we hadn't much of a clue about these games until they were already out in Japan, and we had to wait until a trustworthy magazine hit the shelves that didn't just report rumour and speculation.

Only when the game was in the local Arcade, and if you were old enough to get in, could you see the game's content for yourself.

We're spoilt rotten and impatient in 2011.

Oni Akuma can do an Air based raging demon, as well as 4-way air dash. He's a monstah!
