UK date announcement tomorrow.

PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 tennis simulation Top Spin 4 will launch in the US on 15th March, 2K Sports has announced.

2K Sports will confirm a European launch date tomorrow, Eurogamer understands.

The release date confirmation comes from the game's Facebook page. Also confirmed is Move support for the PlayStation 3 version.

Mafia II developer 2K Czech is at the helm. We're promised redesigned controls, "jaw-dropping" player models and "Signature Style" animations.

There's also an "enhanced TV-style presentation" and "one of the deepest player rosters to date".

The last game in the series, 2008's Top Spin 3, was proper good. Eurogamer awarded it 8/10.

I really loved Top Spin on the Xbox, but I just felt in subsequent iterations they have gone too far into the simulation part rather than making a fun game.
Hopefully a return to form.

Miths: Both, I think. I seem to remember hearing Virtua Tennis does (might be wrong though), but from this article is the following text: "Also confirmed is Move support for the PlayStation 3 version". So you've got Move support in this for sure.

I loved Top Spin 1 and 2..But couldn`t get on with Topspin 3..They changed the whole style of play and I just didn`t get it. Lets hope it goes back to the original style and they bring back replays. Don`t know why this was removed for TS2??

Zash: It was just a joke referencing the whole "PS3 version has no grass!" "controversy" with Mafia 2. ( http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digita... ) I wasn't seriously suggesting that the PS3 version had content cut.

Is this one going to be good like Top Spin 2, or shit like Top Spin 3? Here's hoping it follows the Star Trek rule...

@DreadedWalrus: In that case, let me add how much my friends and I have all enjoyed Top Spin 2... we still play it, much better than Virtua Tennis, thank you for making it!

Also for what it's worth I always like it when devs look in the comments of these articles. Seems to be mostly sports developers, coincidentally (I know Sports Interactive regularly respond in the relevant comments threads on here, for example). Keep up the good work.

@Stuz359: So true, couldn't agree more. Playing the 3rd iteration's tutorial I realised what kind of commitment I was expected to make timewise. Never touched it again, even though I loved the idea of playing as Boris.

I'm really loooking forward to some proper (!) Move support, finally, hopefully using both Move controllers.

Having spent most of my time since Xmas addicted to the Table Tennis in Sports Champions (I cannot believe how accurate it is) - I'm seriously on the hunt for a Tennis game with Move Support.

Why have they got James Blake in the game? The guys ranked about 140 in the world and is more than likely going to be retired at the end of this year?

I enjoyed Top Spin 3, but they had some serious issues with the multiplayer and match-making that they need to fix.

It will be interesting to compare Move support for this with Virtua Tennis, in any case, if they get it right(a la Sports Champions Table Tennis) we will be in for a treat. Love tennis games.

I ask this with no malice intended, are tennis games that big anymore? Its kinda like Boxing games.... games that would do well in the olden days, but wouldnt think they would sell that well today.

Funny that! spent the best part of 90 minutes playing topspin3 this evening. I just hope that they can add some commentary to the game because that game is as boring as shit to play at time because it is just silence in between the points.

And improving the player models. That would be a good step.
