Set to face off against Bulletstorm.

PlayStation 3-exclusive FPS Killzone 3 will launch in the UK on 25th February – and go head-to-head with Epic Games' own FPS Bulletstorm.

Killzone 3 has gone gold, SCEA Santa Monica Studio associate producer Mike Graham revealed on the US PlayStation Blog.

In the US Killzone 3 launches on 22nd February.

Guerrilla Games' Killzone 3 supports stereoscopic 3D and the Move controller. It's got jetpacks and split-screen co-op.

It also has visuals to die for. Check them out below.

I honestly thought that their Feb date would slip. Glad to see that it will be arriving on time.

I will be buying this, and probably not Bulletstorm. I'm not really liking the Bulletstorm trailers, and I'm one (of the few?) who thought KZ2 was brilliant in ways - particularly the physics, AI and multiplayer.

No doubt Bulletstorm Devs and Publisher will be disappointed at hearing thery're up against a rival. Not that I'm suggesting they're similar games in all ways - the look and vibe of the titles look very different from oneanother - but I'm sure even hardened FPS fans will justify going out and buying both titles day 1.

Sure a good number of PS3 owners will gravitate toward the exclusive, whilst perhaps Bulletstorm will perform better on the 360 where there isn't the competition....?

I'll probably get both but Killzone 3 is definitely the one i'm playing first.

There are actually almost too many great games to play at the minute especially for the PS3. I really wish I never had to waste gaming time by going out to work hehe.

Astro-Creature speaks heap big truth. Bulletstorm and its over-exposed developers appear to do comedy in line with the recent American equation of: 'funny = lighting your own fart + kicking someone's balls + getting caught wanking + using very rude words indeed'. Woody Allen is also American of course but his schtick is OK because it involves incest, which Europeans can relate to.

Already have Dead space 2 and killzone 3, preorder my plate is full for now.Bulletstorm doesn't appeal to me Kz 2 was a great game and Kz 3 beta was great stuff.So many games to pick up this year for ps3 its crazy..

Everyones taken for granted KZ3 will be better than Bulletstorm. KZ2 didn't exactly have the best campaign or controls. But I guess KZ3 will be a big improvement over KZ2 judging by how the beta played.

True; KZ2 didn't have the best campaign but it was very solid and enjoyable, and I think it has been unfairly maligned since its release. Bulletstorm is coming from a good developer but stylistically is putting many of us off and has to prove itself as a new IP. I think KZ3 is the safer bet at this point.

I just hope the controls will be a bit smoother than in part 2! To me it felt as if a snail with Parkinson's could aim quicker than that; very tedious. Otherwise it was a fine game!

I hope there is less lag in KZ3 than KZ2, though I doubt it.

Epic have always struggled to get attention for their outstanding games so I think they are baiting controversy for attention, saying that there games are solid, and they have the reverse approach to Guerilla, in that the story is not as important as the game play.

Most gamers are not really interested in very demanding gaming and more interested in a strong story line and stimulating graphics so Killzone will probably completely blitz Bulletstorm, unfortunately in my opinion.
