Bulletstorm demo confirmed

Unlocks upgrades in the full game.

A demo of People Can Fly's first-person shooter Bulletstorm will release on 25th January on Xbox Live and 26th January on the PlayStation Network, EA has announced.

No mention was made of a PC demo.

The demo features a slice of Echo mode, a cooperative mode that tracks and compares player scores while they play through locations found in the campaign. The location in the demo is a collapsed building, which players must traverse.

The idea is you use the Skillshot system to kill bad guys in as creative a fashion as possible. The more creative the kill, the more points you'll score.

The Bulletstorm demo also lets players unlock platform-specific upgrades to use in the full game's Anarchy multiplayer mode. These include the Crimson Leash and Stealth Armour.

The Xbox 360-exclusive Bulletstorm Epic Edition grants early access to the Gears of War 3 beta as well as bonus content in-game. The Bulletstorm Limited Edition will be available for the PS3 and PC and will also offer its own bonus content in-game.

Christian Donlan went hands-on with Bulletstorm in December last year. "Bulletstorm is a shooter where you're looking for the juicy racing line that runs through each level. Its high score arcade ethos has been tried before - notably with love-'em-or-hate-'em oddities like The Club - but it's never been done with this kind of big-budget assurance and hillbilly humour. Fling that together with a single-player campaign packed with set-pieces and huge bosses and you can see why EA's excited about this one," he wrote.
