    I like this new direction...

Good to see the muddy wet t-shirt look made it in. Glad they didn't let me down on that one.

I'm pleasantly surprised (that's what she said). I'm loving this new style; Lara looks great too, has to be said. Now, let's hope the gameplay and story are of the same standard.

I think it looks quite interesting. I like the look of exploring parts of the island (presumably caverns etc) with torchlight. Looks like it could be quite atomospheric. *pleasebegoodpleasebegood*

I am somewhat pleasently surprised as well. It really seems to go in a new direction rather than take the same thing and turn it dark (like PoP Warrior Within). Pretty much everything looks different and interesting. This could really be a reboot that actually improves the series.

looks interresting. Laras boobs havent gotten smaller though :P. i also liked all the new tomb raider games made by crystal dynamics. But a chance in direktion could be interresting. and it certainly looks better than what is happening with Dante :P

So like, Tomb Raider meets Amnesia?
  • Katanax #9 1 year ago

Hmmn, could Naughty Dog actually have some competition with this? Have to say, it's looking fantastic!

I feel they could tone it down a bit - it seems a bit much as it is - but I'm interested to see how it ends up.

Is that a shot of Lara snapping a finger back into place?
    Gnarly!

Looks more like Saw than TR to be honest.

I like the new Lara, I really don't like the setting.

Laundry day can't come soon enough

Haven't been interested in Tomb Raider for about 10 years, still not interested, but this is at least a sliver of hope for something semi decent.

It looks exactly like what it is -- the product of a marketing meeting where the topic of the day was "Uncharted, and how we tap that consumer base".
  • FogHeart #16 1 year ago

^^Yeah, and you need smaller ones :P
  • snick #17 1 year ago

WTF, tits proportional to the body. Next there will be a chapter dedicated to her body issues.

Here we go , Warrior Within all over again...why does it have to go all dark and depressing? She's an Indiana Jones style tomb raider not an emotionally traumatized warrior.

They can reboot the franchise without going down this road

    /rolls eyes

freedump: my thoughts exactly. why oh why does everything need to become gritty these days?! the world's already depressing enough; give me something pleasant to escape to ffs!

Jesus its "The Descent" video game
  • AnsemsApprentice #21 1 year ago

I thought she'd just fallen into a cave or something, going from her wounds. I doubt the whole game is like this, those're just shots from one part of it, like that crypt level in Uncharted. I don't know that, it's just conjecture, but I'd hazard a guess that's the case here. We'll see eh, too hard to speculate at this time I feel.

    What Freedumb said.

So, the inevitable 'Lara gone dark' reboot arrives. I wish they'd just develop her character through engaging and coherent plot and scripting rather than a re-paint. But then I feel I was the only person on Earth who though TR:Underworld was terrible, so I'm clearly out of step with their target market these days.

I hope they keep Troels Folmann on soundtrack duty though. He's a master.

She looks great!! Compared to her usual pristine apart from slightly shinier (when she gets out of water) self.
    Bandages, cuts, awsome-ness!

I think this looks good. If there was one thing I really disliked about previous Tomb Raiders it was the rather panto feel to the story and characters, and in this game, I think a bit of dirt and broken bones could really give the series a kick up the ass.

I hope these are in-game because that character model is amazing. Really expressive.
