Two Worlds II gets Royal Edition

Figurines! Playing cards! DVD!

Roll up, tat fans – TopWare Interactive has just detailed the Royal Edition of impending RPG sequel Two Worlds II.

Limited to 2500 copies and exclusive to GAME, the lavish set includes the following goodies:

  • Bonus DVD (with music tracks, concept art, wallpapers, making-of documentary)
  • World map of Antaloor
  • Special Edition Dragon Queen statuette
  • Exclusive unlockable in-game weapons
  • Two Worlds II Limited Edition Collectable
  • Deck of Two Worlds II Playing Cards

The oft-delayed sequel to the eccentric, arguably rubbish 2007 RPG finally storms PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 4th February.

Eurogamer's Christian Donlan got an early glimpse of the Reality Pump-developed effort back in March and offered hope of a rather more polished experience. It's "looking surprisingly good," he reckoned.

Retail exclusive editions are fail especially when the retailer of choice is one which always charges full whack. No competition means no prices being pushed down. I'd buy this for £50 odd but no way £70 when i've got the game preordered for 29.99 on shopto.

Does the "World Map of Antaloor" show the entire continent that mysteriously isn't available in the game?

TBH while the first game IS a turd... Who knows, what if sequel is good?

The Royal Edition is available online, via German sites, which I would be far more likely to use than fucking Game - worst retailer ever.

100% Agreed, even though I haven't imported it myself as I'm willing to wait for its retail release over here. Lets just hope it doesn't get delayed for the 9382067th time.

I got the Asian version (which is this case is the PAL version of the game) of the Royal Edition for close to half the asking price from PlayAsia. Unfortunately they no longer stock the Royal Edition. On a happier note the sequel is pretty damn good :).

It's got mixed reviews. Is the combat good ? Also are the missions rrpeatitive ?

@immateriaux: Normally, I avoid Game like the plague. On the other hand, they were selling Mass Effect 2 on the 360 for £4.98 which is all kinds of lovely.

I haven't gone all that far in the game but my impressions so far are:
    i) Graphics are great. It does help if you install the game on your HDD (if you're playing the 360 version). Load times are reduced, stutter due to streaming is infrequent and the frame rate pretty stable.
ii) Character animation, especially jumping (which is so poor it's laughable), isn't that great. Combat animation is pretty good though and varies nicely according to what weapon your character is handling.
iii) Voice work is decent, although the main character is one hell of a nutter :).
iv) Combat works well once you've gotten used to it. Counter-attacks are a must for effective melee combat, and I find archery to be far more useful than magic for ranged combat. This could be due to the fact that I am still in the early stages of the game.
    v) The side-quests are pretty decent actually. Sure you have your fetch quests, and your "kill a certain number of these creatures" quests, but there are more complicated ones that afford the player a variety of ways of accomplishing them. My brother has been playing the game as well and we've taken decidedly different paths even in the early stages of the game, so I reckon there is plenty of breadth in terms of the role-playing available.
In all I've had a pretty good experience with the game thus far. Well worth a look if you like RPGs.

I picked this up a few weeks ago, I had played the first one on my Xbox 360. First impressions were, that it was a sharp improvement over the first one and a bit fun as well. I'm looking forward in playing it some more in the next weeks.

I've had the standard edition of this game in stock for weeks, it's not exactly a stellar title.

got this pre ordered on the pc for £44 - can always cancel if the reviews turn a bit poop, but I think the euro versions picked up some good scores?

I really like this game! It's very polished (compared to the first Two Worlds..), very pretty, surprisingly well-acted (VAST improvement from the first), and has a lot of interesting quests. The main story has not managed to grip me though and it does not feel as open as the first game.

Still, it's definitely worth a purchase. Even at full price.

I think the main problem with Two Worlds 2 is that nobody REALLY cares!
I mean, I ripped the first one to pieces in my review (http://www.skith666.moonfruit.com/#/two-... and frankly, it's affected my opinion about the 2nd one, granted, the 2nd game might be the improvement we are all hoping for but with the dirty stain of Two Worlds 1 still fresh on our brains it's very hard to get excited about this one, or even care about it.
If I ever pick this up it will be from the pre-owned bin at my local GAME.

I loved two worlds (the First). I still pay it off and on even after finishing it twice. I had no problems with the graphics or game play once I upgraded my video card. I am most anxiously looking forward to two worlds 2. I have only read one thing I think I may not like. Having to play a mini game to open locks. If the graphics are as good as the first and game play is as good as the first I will be very happy with that.
