Does Uncharted 3 have campaign co-op?

Will PlayStation 3 exclusive Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception include two-player campaign co-op? Ginormous US shop GameStop suggests so.

GameStop's Uncharted 3 listing" includes a raft of product details, but of most interest is the specifications section.

Under co-op mode reads "yes". Number of online players is "1-3 online co-op, 1-12 online multiplayer".

But it is the mention of "1-2" under number of players that has sparked speculation that Uncharted 3 could be the first game in the spectacular series to feature a co-op campaign.

Uncharted 3 was formerly revealed last week with a promise from developer Naughty Dog to "take on the big boys of the multiplayer genre".

Drake's Deception takes place in the desert. The setting draws inspiration from Lawrence of Arabia as our hero, Drake, and his good friend Sully, explore the Arabian peninsula - also known as the Atlantis of the Sands.

A live gameplay demo on the Jimmy Fallon show saw Drake and Sully attempt to break out of a burning chateau. The series is famous for levels in which Drake is accompanied by an AI-controlled character.

    Campaign co-op would be amazing... Me and my Wife played through Uncharted 1 and 2, taking it in turns to do different sections. It would be awesome to be able to play the third game together!

    Uncharted 2 featured co op for those special missions where you and two other people played through a map, and at the end you had to kill a particular person to complete that map. There is a chance that could be what they are refering to.

    well uncharted 2 has 2-3 player online co op but its not the campaign, i seriously wouldnt get your hopes up, its clearly at least gonna have the same mode as uncharted 2 had as it was very popular.

    It could simply mean that it has 2-player split screen competitive multiplayer or maybe the seperate co-op mode that was there in U2 but was only playabale online. I just can't see this having a co-op campaign. The game isn't designed like that, especially with all the spectacular set pieces.

    Also, to be perfectly honest, this is one game you want to enjoy all by yourself. The experience just wouldn't be the same if it was co-op.

    Personally I dont think it needs it. Any multiplayer feature that could impact the story would be a bad thing, e.g. it would stipulate that drake must have someone else with him at all times. The train section from UC2 would have been nowhere near as good if it had to account for the specific locations of 2 players. Hopefully this is just referring to the special co-op missions from UC2, they were great fun

    Fun fact: Multiplayer being for 2-12 players means 6vs6 instead of U2's 5vs5.

    I would love it. But let's not give online shops too much credit. It wouldn't be the first time an online shop tries to exaggerate games features to convince people to preorder...

    I'd imagine it will have, the second one seemed like at one time or another it had co-op campaign in but it was cut due to time and/or budget restraints (all that lifting your AI partner up to ladders kind of gave it away).

    Campaign co op in Uncharted main story game seem very unlikely I agree, though its could works in extra content, ie treasure hunt levels and if so then would be excellent!

    Cant wait for UC3!

    In the Jimmy Fallon clip the developer says that Drake will be following in the footsteps of Lawrence Of Arabia, so I assume by the end of the game you get to carve up Mesopotamia and cause 100 years of war and suffering...!

    Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3, and a new Elder Scrolls title all scheduled to hit at the end of next year. I'm starting to think the Mayans are on to something with this whole 2012 thing.

    Well, perhaps the world won't come to an end, but I'm likely to disappear altogether.
