Rebellion announces Evil Genius: WMD
PC RTS revived on Facebook.
2004 PC RTS Evil Genius makes an unexpected return today with Evil Genius: WMD, a Facebook game developed by Alien vs Predator studio Rebellion.
Apparently you'll be building your own evil empire, undertaking various dastardly missions and trying to recruit friends into your syndicate.
Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley explained, "We're looking forward to expanding the game with big new features and additional content over the coming months."
Not familiar with the original Evil Genius? It was a real time strategy game developed by the now defunct Elixir Studios that saw your malevolent super-villain attempting to achieve world domination by any means necessary. Eurogamer's Tom Bramwell awarded it a respectable 7/10.
The next full console title from Rebellion following the so-so Alien vs Predator will be third person actioner NeverDead for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. No release date has been confirmed yet.

Hey cool!
"Facebook"
K, bye!

I tried to get into the original but couldn't enjoy it - sending minions on missions just seemed like a random game of chance rather than skill, for one.

Edit - according to Wiki, Rebellion bought all of Elixir's IPs.

Sign of the times I guess when they only seem to pump out handheld ports and a Facebook game shoe horned onto an old IP that deserved better.
Please be good again Rebellion.

Don't see what the complaints are about this really - I think it's a pretty good sign that Rebellion are exploring new markets. Gotta move with the times.
