Footage of Raven's stealth Bond game

Looks like Splinter Cell.

Early footage of Singularity developer Raven Software's rumoured stealth James Bond game has emerged.

It appears in the show reel of animator Hanjin Song (spotted by NeoGAF). The video has since been removed but is currently available to view on YouTube.

The footage reveals a James Bond game that echoes Ubisoft's recent Splinter Cell: Conviction. Bond is seen crouching behind cover, performing takedowns and shooting from a third-person perspective.

Overnight a fresh report claimed Raven had resumed work on a new James Bond game that had been put on hiatus by parent company Activision.

Song's LinkedIn profile reveals he is currently working at EA Chicago.

Activision is yet to comment on the game.

Canon in D minor? Classy choice of music.

While Bond would probably succumb to the problems associated with most license tie-ins, it really doesn't look too bad from this reel. Seems far more interesting than Blood Stone at any rate.

Was a bit confused when the vid started. But fuck me, it looks good. A cross between Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed on a 007 scenario would be fantastic.

Christ, that guy needs to pick better music to accompany his showreel. He is clearly a very talented animator, but that music is just too busy to listen to for 2.5 mins whilst trying to examine the detail of his work. Its still in my head, banging off the walls around like a mosquito tied to the end of the piece of string.

Also, I'm starting to wonder if there's anyone left in the world who doesn't feel compelled to throw trivial QTE segments into games which clearly don't need them.

Meh. Not as good as asphaltcowboy's showreel ;o)

Bond looking better than Blood Stone. Get to it, Raven!

I thought that looked like out-takes from Blood Stone. Eerily similar. Still, Blood Stone was surprisingly enjoyable at times, despite being thoroughly mediocre (and having awful driving sections - for shame Bizarre, you guys should know better).

Singularity restored my faith in Raven though so here's hoping for good things.

So is/was this the Bond game with the ex-EastEnders actor in it, or not?

That's looking quite good actually. I liked the rooftop chase sequence, and the three-shot-takedown. Could we see a Bond game redeeming Blood Stone, and perhaps matching the level of awesome provided in Goldeneye 64?

Probably not, but atleast things look swish.

Now go and make another Jedi Knight, Raven. It's been too long since we had some brilliant exploits of Kyle Katarn & Crew.

That looked as stealthy as the last Splinter Cell. Which means not at all. When will stealth games go back to "finish the mission without anyone noticing you were ever there"?

    BBIAJ,

Daniel Craig looks like he should be in Eastenders, but I don't think he ever was.

Anyway, fingers crossed the troubled next movie production goes on long enough that the series gets a reboot. They're rebooting Spiderman after three films, and Superman after one. Maybe two Bond movies for the Eastender-looking actor is enough. I want a smart, sophisticated Bond. One with class and style. Daniel Craig's Bond looks like he grew up on an estate, and continues to be a thug! Sounds like he'd have made a better policeman than government agent.

Bond looking better than Bloodstone? Are you fooled by the montage? It looks EXACTLY like Bloodstone!

A modern-era Bong stealth game? I'll pass thankyou. It's been many a year since Bond did 'owt stealthily. If it was based on the Fleming books era Bond when the superspy actually did some spying, then I'd be interested.

I loved Singularity, so this is definitely something to look out for.

This is just ridiculous. Add to the lackluster sales of recent Raven games the huge disappointment of Blood Stone sales and you know that Activision would never ever revive Raven's James Bond game. Unless Kotick wants to lose money. Which, last time I checked, he doesn't.

"Bond is seen crouching behind cover, performing takedowns and shooting from a third-person perspective."

Those are brilliant gameplay mechanics! Why isn't there more of this sort of thing in videogames!?
