Oddworld collection heading to Steam
Oddbox gathers all four adventures.
All four Oddworld games will soon see a PC release in the Oddbox pack, developer Oddworld Inhabitants has announced.
Due before the end of 2010, the Oddbox includes the 1997 original, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, its 1998 follow-up, Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, 2001's Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee and 2005's Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath.
It'll be the first time the two most recent games have been available on the PC. Neither Xbox title quite recaptured the quirky spirit of the originals, but Stranger's Wrath came closest, scoring 7/10 from Eurogamer's Kristan Reed.
Oddworld Inhabitants is promising "a few new additions and enhancements", to be confirmed soon.
What's that? You were hoping for a new Oddworld game? Maxis co-founder Jeff Braun revealed he was developing one back in 2008. Then earlier this year British developer Just Add Water announced it was working on the franchise.

Stranger's Wrath woo!
Already have the first two from GoG. Be nice if they use other distributors.

I just hope they're not in a Steam sale soon as my list of uninstalled but purchased on a whim will grow (again).

That's right. I went there.
*EDIT*
Both fantastic games, by the way.
Can't wait for the HD remake of Stranger's Wrath for the PS3!

I wonder if Stranger's Wrath is really the best western video-game as one reviewer wrote.

I adore all the Oddworld games, but the Stranger's Wrath news is fantastic it was a beautiful looking game on the original Xbox, & the increased resolution will certainly help it appeal to newcomers.
I'm hoping it will include the remastered dialogue, texture upgrades & whatever the "bonus content" Just Add Water are including for the PS3 version.
Happy Days..

( forgive me if my memory is wrong of a review that has been deleted from the eurogamer site ... although i think that tells you everything you need to know about that review )
SW was an excellent game and i personally would say that the original Oddworld games were just flashback/another world games with farts ... solid entertaining sure but not up there with the class that oozed out of O:SW
