    Ahaha these are the biggest bullshots I've ever seen

    @bdc

    By Bullshots I hope you don't mean posting fake spruced up images, implying the iPhone couldn't do these graphics...???

    I can assure you the first Real Racing looked like this, in near HD on the iPhone. Also checkout the Unreal 3 engine tech demo Epic Citadel....

    Doesn't matter how good it looks when the controls are complete arse gravy. The tilt controls and on screen d-pads need to die a painful death or iOS will never be suitable for these sort of advanced games.

    "The tilt controls and on screen d-pads need to die a painful death or iOS will never be suitable for these sort of advanced games."

    Wow, that's a lot of idiot in one sentence.

    1. To be replaced by what sort of controls? People REALLY need to fucking get over the fact that the iOS machines don't have buttons and aren't going to.

    2. Racing games? "Advanced"? LOLZ. Steer left, steer right, brake. That's all you need, and touch/tilt controls are perfectly up to managing that simple task. The fact that YOU might not be able to steer straight with onscreen controls is your problem, not the game's. The rest of us can get along just fine.

    You can petulantly neg people all you want, but Real Racing 1 DOES already look that good (particularly on the hi-res Retina display), and it would be a bit odd if they made the sequel uglier.

    Oh, get real Stuart - You can't summarily dismiss the control interface as a big contributor to the actual experience (and value) of play.

    The most efficient and effective (in performance and verisimilitude) way to play any driving sim is with a wheel. You could make a handheld game that looks better than Forza or GT5, but it'd never be the equal of the experience because a touchscreen is not as practical a way to control a vehicle or an accurate simulation of one.

    The intent will always be effected by the method.

    You're forgetting this is a racing game on a PHONE. It's not meant to be Gran Turismo of Forza calibre, it's meant to be something you have a mess around with on the bus/toilet for a few minutes at a time. A simple control method is perfectly adequate.

    @Wyrm

    No I'm not forgetting anything. I'm just pointing out that a touch screen interface is a shitty way to control a wide range of gaming applications compared to conventional control interfaces.

    "Simplicity" and "adequacy" are hardly benchmarks that set me shivering with excitement.

    iOS devices are really good, but they aren't ideal for every type of game - pretending otherwise is just foolishness, no matter how shiny the graphics are.

    I want a game I can play off the cuff with enough realism to satisfy my Forza needs. Real Racing was brilliant. I didn't like the fact that Golf's were the only licensed vehicles in this but with smoothness of play and subtlety of its controls and presentation for the price of a Starbucks Coffee, it's brilliant. Hope that the inclusion of so many licenses won't take the developers focus from moving the gameplay on a bit. When is this due??

    Just saw... 16th December! Plus damage which effects the car, 16 players online and 8 players local. 30 licensed cars. The online mode is just awesome though, for an iPhone game it's the way forward. £5.99 too.

    Ok I sound like I work for them now, marketing fail
