Kirby your Enthusiasm?

Wii-exclusive platformer Kirby's Epic Yarn will be released in Europe on 25th February 2011, Nintendo's announced.

It's already out in the US.

Good-Feel's gorgeous platformer debuted at Nintendo's E3 2010 conference in June. It has pretty woollen, patchwork visuals and merry Disney-esque music.

It's Kirby's first new home console game in the Kirby series since 2003's Kirby Air Ride for Nintendo GameCube. It is also the first ever Kirby game created exclusively for Wii.

John Teti turned up an 8/10 in Eurogamer's Kirby's Epic Yarn review.

I just don't like that everyone I know already has this and donkey kong because they illegally downloaded the American versions. I have to wait so much longer for the privilege of paying for them. They probably get a better experience too, run their whole game collection off one little external hard drive.

Its the EU release not UK, they presumably need to add other languages/subtitles not to mention comply with EU licensing laws but its still shockingly late. Almost like they didn't even start with the EU version until the US was out the door.

Still too late for me I'm afraid. After months of consideration, I soft-modded my wii in order to play imports, and right now there's a US copy of Kirby in the post (well, probably stuck at a snow-encrusted airport). If Nintendo insist on region coding for their games, the least they can do is have simultaneous release dates.

The bizarre thing about having to localise games for Europe is that the UK version (which should need next to no translating whatsoever from the US version) will always be released later than in France. Games and movies always seem to be released here (in France) first. Why on earth is that?

Games with far more text than Kirby have taken less time to reach Europe.

I highly doubt the delay has to do with localization. But didn't the last Kirby games take quite a while to get here as well? At least the DS one was release a lot later than the US counterpart as well.

Earlier than expected. Was promised initially for March/April. So, I'm calling a woot on this. Just enough time to rinse Donkey Kong Country Returns after Santa delivers. (he'd better)
