EVE Incursion patch notes are up

Winter expansion live tomorrow.

CCP has posted the patch notes for EVE Online's winter expansion, Incursion.

It's relatively modest as EVE updates go, focusing on a slew of player-requested changes and and fixes rather than a bumper release of new content and features.

There's a new salvaging ship, the Noctis; there are changes to weapons and ammunition and the market; quite a lot of work has been done to improve the game's network performance; and there are graphical and UI tweaks too.

Incursion goes live tomorrow, 30th November. However, the big news, arguably, as Massively points out, is that CCP is finally bowing to requests to abolish Learning skills from the game. This is planned for a patch some time in mid-December, but it might slip to January.

Yep and.......wait for it.....we have Eurogamer corps for the PVE side and an 0.0 Alliance type corp. We're a big happy family though and you can dip in between the two.

Should say that this is NOT the main Incursion release, but part one of it. There are two more parts to come, one on Dec 12th, and one in January.

Yeah, I think this is part 1 of 3.

Part 2 on Dec 14th is learning skills removal and a few other tweaks.

Part 3 in January are the new character creations and Sansha incursions.

That's a lot of update. Long training skill time :)

If i had more time, then this would be my MMORPG.
Then again if i'd quit surfing the internet and reading gaming news, i could possibly make enough time for this...

This game should be right up my street but I simply have no time immersing myself. If I did I would kiss goodbye to my wife, daughter, social life and everything else in between. There are just too many other brilliant games that compete for my attention.

I think this is one game that can fit in to a busy schedule if you have one. You could log on, join a fleet, have a few fights and log off after 30-40 minutes if you feel you have accomplished anything and all the time whilst off-line your character is learning the required skills for ships and weapons.

Have to agree with Halo Jones (and not just because he's the boss) - I actually think EVE, once you're past the initial stages of figuring out what you want and how to get it, doesn't require huge amounts of time to be very rewarding. A hisec dweller can log in for an hour, run a mission or two and earn some isk, scan down some sites etc and then log again.

The skills system means you're training whether you play or not - there's no 'grind' in the traditional sense of grinding to improve your character, only grind (missions/mining/exploration/planetary interaction/etc) to earn isk for ships and fittings, which you can do at your preferred pace without penalty.

The biggest barrier, imo is finding a good community/corp to play with - and as said, the EG corps are brilliant. Time isn't as much of a requirement in EVE as you might think! :)

Have been playing EVE for over 7 years now and created one of the first corps in the game... which I am happy to say is still running stronger than ever. We have over 300 members now, and recently moved to a new area of 0.0 space (Catch Region) where we have 4 juicy outposts that are bringing in the cash :)

if any of you fellow Eurogamer people would like to join M. PIRE (the alliance we created to hold M. Corp and M. Corp Engineering) then you would be most welcome.

Just join MCORP_RECRUITS in-game and speak to one of our recruiters.

We also have a corp website

    Cheers,
    Velios

Why has Eurogmaer not done an article yet on the new character creation system and how big you can make your norks? The people deserve to know!
