Infected VGAs tease sets tongues wagging
Left 4 Dead set for PlayStation 3?
An image detected in an advert for the Video Game Awards has sparked speculation of a Left 4 Dead-related reveal.
The image, which you can see below, contains the message: "Infected? Report it!" In the bottom right hand corner sits "1 of 3" (as noticed by Joystiq).
Clearly, the game it refers to is zombie-related, but what is it?
Reports suggest it's anything from a PlayStation 3 port of Left 4 Dead and/or Left 4 Dead 2, to a Left 4 Dead 3 reveal.
At E3 2010 in June Left 4 Dead developer Valve announced Portal 2 would arrive on PS3 as well as PC and Xbox 360 when it's released next year.
"I've been pretty outspoken in my comments about next gen consoles," boss man Gabe Newell joked during Sony's E3 conference, "so I'd like to thank Sony for their gracious hospitality and not repeatedly punching me in the face."
But, given every game these days has zombies, "Infected" could releate to anything.

or it could mean it's teaser 1 of 3 for this game,or maybe it's a new game from a trilogy (which L4D with a third installment would just happens to be).

I'd rather believe though that it's either a reveal of a proper zombie-only Resident Evil 6, the superb-looking Dead Island from the guys who did Call of Juarez, or the sequel to a superb Half-Life mod They Hunger: Lost Souls.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it always seemed to me that it was an exclusive simply because Valve couldn't / didn't want to spend the extra money necessary for a PS3 port (just like Metro 2033, Divinity, Risen, Sherlock holmes, Sup Com and another dozen PC centric games that haven't been ported to the ps3).

I'm still hoping for Left 4 Dead 3 though.
Oh, and I must make the obligatory "Where's Episode 3 ?" comment.

It does force you to come up with new tactics as the new Special Infected were designed to defeat some of the more common ones Valve saw players using.
Overall, however, it's a great game in its own right and well worth playing.

@edhe: Finish it? You're not playing it single-player are you? It's a multiplayer game primarily. Either way, don't worry, there are four difficulty modes. Stay off the top two and play with good players and you will be fine.
While I'd be totally cool for it to be a PS3 L4D announcement (preferably a box-set of both games with all the DLC), everyone who wants it really should have it already on PC. The free DLC, ultra-cheap regular Steam discounts, weekly mutations and constant decent user campaigns really make it worthwhile, even to people who don't usually play on PC.

It doesn't really have a Valve or L4D feel for me, they're hardly the first one to have enemies that are "infected" and the 1 of 3 is probably just the first of three teasers. I suspect that there's a marketing department in some company that's rather disappointed that they've somehow started advertising a non-existent Valve product.

Maybe to make everyone happy they could just port L4D3 to the PS3.

One of three would be one of three of the original special infected (smoker, hunter, boomer). Since they're the most favored, as compared to L4D2's new special infected, they're most likely mentioning them. I honestly doubt there's going to be a L4D3, they were pushing the franchise a little bit when they came out with L4D2 so soon, but a third game might push it too far.

"The National Health Service (NHS) is the shared name of three of the four publicly funded healthcare systems in the United Kingdom. " -Wikipedia
The 1 of 3 may further indicate that it's something to do with this as there are 3 public healthcare systems with the name NHS, as you can see above.
If anything, I think this means it's not anything to do with L4D which is based in the US.
Just a thought...
