GT5 date announcement imminent
Let's go round again.
Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi has tweeted that a Gran Turismo 5 date announcement is imminent.
"It looks like the release date is about to be announced," he wrote on Twitter according to Andriasang's translation.
Gran Turismo 5 has been firmly dated only once before, at E3 this year, when PlayStation 3 platform holder Sony said to expect it on 3rd November, but the release was delayed last month.
It's hardly the first time the game has been set back - at the Tokyo Game Show in 2009 Sony said it would be released in Japan this March, only to walk back that claim at the start of this year.
The big question is whether the game will be released this month, this year, or whether Sony will bump it into 2011. Yamauchi has previously said that the discs were "being stamped as we speak" on 3rd November, so it's a tough one to call.
Sounds like we'll know soon though. Sony told Eurogamer yesterday that it had no new information on the release date.
Meanwhile, Yamauchi has said the studio is already at work on Gran Turismo 6.

EU = Dec 17th
US = Dec 14th
Seems sound considering they have to finish printing the discs and get out to shops.

With GT5 we never know what happens
But I doubt they will bump it to jan/feb since Sony allready have two monster titles coming out at that time (LBP2 and KZ3). Of course they could further delay it to march or april.
My bet is early december with limited supplies.

Drugs, booze, hookers, sheep... it's hard work being Yamauchi!

I'm betting on an early December release by the way.

I'd find a score of 8/10 bizarre considering Prologue scored that nearly 3 years ago. It wouldn't make sense for a "demo" edition of a game to score so highly and the full version, which has stacks of additional content to score equal to that. I'm expecting a 9 at least but given EG's inconsistency with review scores I don't think I'll care much.
Red Dead Redemption 's 8/10 and Dead Space's 7/10 scores are the most criminally underscored games on this site. They really are exceptional. If GT5 scored similarly, they would join that exclusive group. Plus I doubt there's one single person out there whose purchasing decision would be affected by reviews for this game. It could score 1/10 and still sell millions.

I mean they've been saying for the past 18months that the games been finished, they've probably spent that time inventing a working teleporter.
