GT5 out on 30th November?
Official Sony site reckons so.
Gran Turismo 5 will launch on 30th November, if a new listing on a Sony website is to believed.
According to the platform holder's US online store, Sony Style, the oft-delayed sequel will be "available on or about 11/30/2010". The site is taking pre-orders.
Earlier this week an industry source told Eurogamer that there was little hope that the game would see release before Christmas.
But then yesterday creator Yamauchi chimed in saying "discs are being stamped as we speak".
Confusion reins. We've contacted Sony to see if the date is the real deal or not.

Boring now, tbh, all these "dates" just take the p**s further out of all of us consumers that have been waiting YEARS for a release.
RELEASE it already.

Sadly, it won't. Only half the cars have damaging, dodgy AI...
I expect a 9, and wouldn't be surprised if it got an 8.

Not so for this game. If GT5 is not a polished piece of perfection, it should be marked down because of the lengthy development time. They've delayed again and again to polish and preen, so if its not perfect, then what have they been doing? If it had simply just taken 5 years to develop, then fine. But to announce dates again and again and then pull it at the eleventh hour to polish, then yes, it should be chastised for not being a well rounded, fully polished, bug free and option filled game.
IMHO, obv. I could be wrong. I was once, you know....1985 I think it was....

All the GT games (the full ones) turn up 4-5 years into a Playstations life. Any TRUE gamer knows this. GT5 is thus no difference.
To my knowledge, there have been 2 delays.
1/ A Japanese only delay that cancelled the Japan-only March 2010 date.
2/ A short delay on the Nov 2010 global launch date.

I think the combo of how long it's taken and that I'm kinda over sim racers now is the reason. I have no doubt it will get a good score and good sales, I'm just quite happy to let it pass me by this time.

Its your kind of elitism that really annoys me. There is no such thing as a 'TRUE gamer'. Idiots like you think they're above others just because they know a lot more about games. My wife was the shit at NFS:U2 and hasn't touched a console game since, but she plays on her DS all the time. She's a gamer. My 4 year old plays Harry Potter on my Xbox. He's a gamer. A friend of mine can name just about every game that ever came out on the PSOne/2 and 3 and probably the developer, publisher, release date and average review score from memory. He's a gamer. The only difference is those that do play, and those that don't.
I own a Wii, will be getting a Kinect after xmas, and probably whatever Nintendo come up with for their next Wii. I was a Sony fanboy till I grew up and got an Xbox 360. I play CoD and Battlefield games, don't like Halo, looking forward to Dead Space 2, remember Dizzy, Worms and Cannon Fodder. I'm a gamer.

Presumably that industry source was Steve Ballmer?

"If there was a way to display my ps3 collection on this site I would do it."
All it takes is a little effort. How do you think I populated my game collection?

Shit, this is embarrassing. Why, please, why don't you get it out now? As soon as possible? Oh for God's sake.

If this doesn't get a 10/10 just what on earth have they been doing for so long.
The rating doesn't matter because this is the one and only racing game, and for car fans, it's the only one game at all. Given the decision of having either GT5 or all other existing games altogether, we wouldn't hesitate to choose GT5.

Fair enough, you learn something new everyday. I cant be bothered tbh, the xbox ones update automatically. Anyway the point im making is i have nothing against Sony or GT5, i even stopped playing Forza 3 around lvl 35. I just find them a bit sterile. Find myself enjoying more arcade style racers lately.

It hasn't been that long. The game was announced in circa 2006-07, thus making it about 3-4 years. If you think that's long enough, please look at Alan Wake and Mafia II, both of which were in development for a longer period, can you imagine (though the whiners would probably not let you) than GT5 and both of which were rather abysmal. Other games, like for example Heavy Rain have been in development for a while but the developers chose not to reveal it immediately as it was a new kind of game and didn't have any reputation to ride on originally.
The time is not what matters here; it is the dedication. It's just that people love this series far more than other ones, it has a rabid fanbase not only among gamers but also among car enthusiasts and non-gamers, so there has been expectations for it like no other. These expectations, which you really can't blame on Polyphony or Yamauchi (can you really blame them for making excellent games?), are what make people think the wait has been so long.

What a load of bollocks. Whos is this 'we' you speak of? I love my sims and have tried just about every one over the last 20 years. And I'll take iRacing every time thank you very much.
The problem with GT for me, is that each game is too similar to the last and has to many flaws that ruin it for me. I've bought every GT, but will be skipping this one.

Bet bet bet !!!!!
The winner is ............................. I'll tell you in 6 months time when GT5 finally gets it's European release.
*I hope I'm joking but I would put nothing past how Sony treat us European gamers*
