    Basically, if you can run CoD4 you can run this.
  • matrim83 #3 2 years ago

    If you could run MW1, WaW or MW2 you can run this. And the next CoD. And the one after that. And the one after that. And so on.

    Edit Damnit Quint you have made an enemy for life.

    /Shakes fist.

    My machine does, but I'm not so sure about my stomach

    The real question is, even if your machine can, will you really want to?

    I'd take those specs with a pinch of salt and wait for the official specs from Treyarch. Triple core Phenom as minimum processor on the AMD side? They're having a fucking giraffe. I would have thought the minimum spec would have been at round about the same level as MW2, which was;

    Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor or better supported
    Memory: 1 GB RAM
    Graphics: 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT or better or ATI Radeon 1600XT or better
    DirectX: Microsoft DirectX(R) 9.0c
    Hard Drive: 12GB of free hard drive space
    Sound: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

  • beatwolf #8 2 years ago

    yes i can... and triple that !!
  • MattyD #9 2 years ago

    A toaster could run this game. Isn't it basically a souped-up Quake mod?
  • neems #10 2 years ago

    Like mashk says, those specs actually look pretty high. Core 2 Duo and an 8600 minimum? Seems unlikely.

    Yeah, I have no clue what people are thinking with the whole "you can run this no matter what" thing. It has huuuuge minimum specs in the processor department, way more than a 360 could pump out. It must have super-complex physics, more than Red Faction: Guerilla, plus AI that would make Bungie jealous. Oh, and...uh...hundreds of enemies on screen. Yup.

    ...Or is this game a spiritual successor to Crysis?

  • Golgo #13 2 years ago

    I have no idea what all these numbers mean but I'm sure they all add up...to FUN!!!
  • cheeky_pete #14 2 years ago

    They are either entirely wrong or the programmers at Treyarch have fucked up big time.

    "It has huuuuge minimum specs in the processor department, way more than a 360 could pump out"

    The 360 CPU runs at 3.2ghz and does 6 simultaneous threads. The CPU's listed are 2 thread and 3 thread CPU's respectively.

    Question is, is it still running on Steamworks?

    @MattyD (and everyone else still under this impression): No, only the first Call of Duty used the Quake 3 engine. It's been pretty much IW's own tech running the latest CODs. I believe.
  • sink257 #17 2 years ago

    @TheTingler Yes it uses Steamworks.
  • mashk #18 2 years ago

    RE: The Tingler

    I believe the 'COD engine' is still based on ID's IDTECH3. Just with stuff added to it to bring it upto date.
  • MattyD #19 2 years ago

    Yeah I'm pretty sure the splash screens at the start of Modern Warfare 2 says something about using tech licensed from ID.
