Red Dead standalone DLC disc bundle

25 quid for all the bits released so far.

Rockstar has announced plans to release Undead Nightmare, a standalone disc bundling all the Red Dead Redemption downloadable content together.

The official site doesn't say exactly when it will be out, but it does say that you will pay £24.99 / €29.99 for the privilege of owning it and that it won't need a copy of Red Dead to play. (Update: Rockstar told Eurogamer it had nothing to announce on a date right now.)

Undead Nightmare will consist of the Undead Nightmare Pack, due out on 26th October this month, as well as the Outlaws to the End Co-op Mission Pack, the Legends and Killers Pack, the Liars and Cheats Pack and all the Multiplayer Free Roam modes released so far.

WIsh there was some story based dlc like gta4, the multiplayer stuff holds no interest for me.
  • darkmorgado #2 2 years ago

    @deez

The undead nightmare stuff is story-based. Thought it will probably destroy the atmosphere, turning a western into a period zombie game.

Undead nightmare is a single player campaign from what I can tell. Apparently there will be 12 hours additional gameplay with this pack. Seems like it may actually be similar in size to tlad and tbogt.

    Agreed with Dark.

I bought Red Dead beacuse it was a decent homage to all the classic Westerns that I like and not because 'LOL!Z LETZ PUT ZOMBIES3!!1 IN IT BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE IS ROFL!".

    Cynical, pointless and retarded.

Did a dev say twelve? I've seen another piece on this that claimed five, tops. tbh I always go with the lower estimate as there's nothing more predictable than a dev claiming their DLC has about three times the amount of content / game length their DLC actually contains.

RDR was very macabre- with it's cannibals and necrophiliacs and there was a touch of the metaphysical too. The trailers for Undead Nightmare look great. You should head over to the official RDR site before you judge it so harshly.

After all, it's only supposed to be a bit of fun.

JohnnyJ - are you describing the content as cynical? Because lumping it in there with "pointless and retarded" would mean you don't actually know what the word means...

    "Cynical, pointless and retarded."

Is that a description of your post?
  • ZizouFC #9 2 years ago

So this is a standalone story, as it's not gonna pop up in your current game but be selected via the main menu?

We were all calling for TLAD style DLC an it looks like we are gonna get it.

I wonder why they didn't decide to let you play as a different character like in the GTA add-ons? Would of loved to have been Seth battling zombies!

    @Deckard1

How witty. Post something on the topic or don't even bother.

And to people who negged me, presumably you don't like staying on topic in forum threads, so I suggest you fuck off to NeoGAF where that kind of bullshit is tolerated. I think you'll like it that there too since its a place where you can find like minded retards who like nothing better than to fling sarcastic shit at each other all day without actually forming an opinion on anything gaming-related whatsoever.

    Thanks.

Looks like I'll hold off picking up Undead Nightmare and wait for the disc to drop in price.

Have been meaning to go back to RDR at some point and this looks like an adequate excuse :o)

  • asphaltcowboy #19 2 years ago

@andywilkie35 That's the RRP. Do you really imagine that will be the price from retailers?
  • thewool #20 2 years ago

    ANNOUNCE THE PC VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • kongzi #21 2 years ago

I don't get how this works.. is it playable as a standalone game, much like the episodes disc was? Or do you need the original game?
Also, if you thinks it kills the atmosphere to have zombies in there, just don't buy it.. you have a choice, just act like life is a Bioware game.
I won't be buying any of it anytime soon, cause red dead killed my xbox. In slo-mo, so that was a nice peckinpah-touch right there.

Seems like a good price for all the DLC bundled together, but I have no interest in the multiplayer DLC so will be giving it a miss. I'll probably be buying Undead Nightmare seperately.
  • the_dudefather #24 2 years ago

really looking forward to the zombie DLC, it's like a videogame version of the simpson's halloween episodes or something
  • Hyoscine #25 2 years ago

Man, wish this was hitting the PC. : (
  • darth_paul #26 2 years ago

I might consider buying a DLC bundle if it was more like £15.99 download (as I LOVE this game but have non of the DLC yet) - but I dont want another disc and case to have to store. Digital storage and large HDD's are the way forward IMO.
