DJ Hero 2 leads PSN Store dash

MW2 DLC cheapened as MOH gets near.

A DJ Hero 2 demo is the most interesting piece of content added to the PlayStation Store today. Will the full game be any good? Should be, the first one was. Does anyone care? Can't say, but this could be the last attempt if the answer is no.

You'll also notice that Activision has cut the price of the Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence and Stimulus DLC in half for a limited amount of time. The deal expires on 12th October. Hold on, that's just three days before the new Medal of Honor game arrives from EA - what a coincidence!

The full PSN update is below.

Sony's also laid out October and November for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Free game offerings include Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Critter Crunch, and there are notable discounts for Trine (half-price) Penny Arcade Adventures (buy one episode, get the other free).

This week marked the first birthday of PlayStation minis. They haven't taken off like the App Store did, but Sony's in the mood to celebrate nonetheless; cue the buy-one-win-10 promotion.

There are fresh batch of songs and an update for the SingStore, too. The Play SingStar menu has been "rejigged", gameplay modes renamed and various screens updated. More on that on the European PlayStation blog.

There's no post explaining this week's Digital Comics Store additions, but there will be one eventually.

Another month, another reason for me to celebrate not forking out for Playstation Plus.

Why would it be coincidence for Activision to put the price back UP for the MW2 DLC in time for EA's game? What am I missing there?
  • Ducklord #4 2 years ago

    @Hobo

I'm guessing the idea is that people will buy the map packs and be too busy playing them to bother getting MoH
  • ZizouFC #5 2 years ago

Anybody know the size of the DJ Hero 2 demo?

Phantasy Star Portable 2 made this the first update in a long time that I wasn't entirely disappointed with. Presumably it'll go back to normal next week.

Hey Sony... Mini's are not taking off like in the Apple Store because of one simple reason...

£3.99 does NOT equal £0.59 or even £1.19

99% of games on iTunes are successful because they are priced at that "does not matter" price like you would equate with a bag of crisps or a Mars bar

As soon as you get close to a fiver you think before you hit the purchase button because that is so close to the cost of a pint of beer.

And from my highly researched scientific study I conclude the following...

    Beer is too expensive!

Sorry - off to pick up my Doctorate

Ducklord...I figured that might be the angle, wouldn't thought it more coincidental if Activision reduced the price three days before MoH's release though, not put it up?

Still no Castle Crashers. Its been more then a fucking MONTH and now apparently its had to be resubmitted so we won't see it for a while. SCEE are absoutly useless. I'm buying it off the US store, does the online work in Europe?

Also, I had to LOL at the free DLC content the Euro PS3 blog said that Plus users got...."a free Burn Zombie Burn Home item as DLC this month." Jesus.
  • cherryuk #10 2 years ago

hmmm Phantasy Star Portable 2 sounds like a tasty offer, as long as there's no subscription. I may be tempted

Oh the good ol' PlayStation store with those useless special offers :p Only 3 respectable games I ever bought from there were Battlefield 1943 for 8 euro's and Flower and PixelJunk Monsters for 3 euro's each. Still waiting for Braid and PixelJunk Shooter to drop down in price.

Steam does a better job at special offers. I'm still running around naked celebrating that I've bought Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 for 10 euro's!

i've never got a COD DLC and never will cant see the point they brings a new game out every year just waste of money .if your just going to buy the new games each year.
