FIFA 11 scores UK number one
Third biggest game launch ever.
There are no surprises at the top of the UK All-Formats Top 40 this week as EA Sports' FIFA 11 storms to the summit.
The game even displaces FIFA 10 from number three in the all-time biggest launches list, although Modern Warfare 2 and Grand Theft Auto IV remain the first and second biggest, for the record.
According to compilers GfK Chart-Track, FIFA 11's launch was 21 per cent heftier than FIFA 10's last year, and while Xbox 360 remains most punters' format of choice for the game the gap in growth isn't that great - 360 sales are up 26 per cent year on year for the first week, while PS3 sales are up 23 per cent.
Elsewhere it looks like everyone else decided to keep out of FIFA's way, so there are no other new releases to speak of, just a bit of musical chairs among recent launches and the perennial sellers.
That means F1 2010 holds on to number two with sales down nearly half on its launch week, while Dead Rising 2 sticks at number three with a quarter drop in sales.
Halo: Reach slips two places to number four with a 45 per cent drop in sales, but Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock moves up to fifth despite a 13 per cent dip.
Those titles are followed by Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, no doubt buoyed by advertising to coincide with the Ryder Cup; Sports Champions; Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, which continues to benefit from discounting; Toy Story 3 and Civilization V to round off the top 10.
Check out the full chart below to see who else moved and shook.

Please F1 2010 is still high and suprsied reach is below Dead Rising 2.
Also disapointed to see RUSE fall out of the charts. Really good game.

@jebus
You reckon it's bust?
I have experienced a bit of lag here and there, but aside from that it's pure gravy. I'm 30 ranked matches in already. Best FIFA ever, easily
Sorry - I should have said Online Clubs specifically.
I utterly love the game of football it plays but yeah clubs is horrendous. Trouble fining a game, if you do then quite often the game crashes on exit, many of our club have had issues with freezing in the match lobby and having to reset to dashboard. The list goes on. To be fair the situation was slightly better last night but Friday and Saturday online Clubs wasn't an option and that tends to be the main reason I buy and love FIFA. I'm assuming it's more an EA server issue than the actual game code.
Offline it's great

I've been playing FIFA11 all over the weekend - I am stunned. It plays so damn easily and feels like a football game, more so than the previous versions of PES have ever been. I will still be getting PES on 360, but I am conflicted as to whether I really NEED PES anymore, with the current matches I've played on FIFA, I've been gripped. Really stunning stuff.
Jebus does have a bit of a point w/ multiplayer. I've only experienced it twice but when my bro and I tried to recreate the East Midlands derby (Derby v Forest), the game cut out twice at half-time in both sessions. We finally got the game sorted though, I won (as Derby) 2-0.
I don't know why I had to tell you the score. I'm an Ajax fan after all. Other than the two cut-outs though, the MP has been (so far) very good. Excellent game so far.

And I find it disturbing that it wasn't mentioned in any reviews - I mean, if a "review" fails to point out that a really important feature is broken at launch, well that means that something is not working as it should.

"TBH, what really bothers me is that this Online Clubs problem hasn't been reported by any website I know - it's a massive issue, lots of people are suffering from it according to comments threads I visited, I wish I could read an EG news that says they contacted EA and asked them about it. Because I paid 60€ for a product I currently can't use properly."
Yeah I know what you mean, it's annoying - although to be fair on Friday night David Rutter was tweeting regularly about the issues everyone trying to play clubs were having and the progress in resolving them. He's stopped now which is annoying but hopefully things will get sorted ASAP. Like I said earlier we had some minor success Sunday night. Hopefully tonight will be better again.
The FIFA 11 forum is a good place to post issues that you may be having as the dev team have requested information. Obviously half the comments are by half wits slagging EA off but I think someone is taking notice.

Even if i am fully addicted to FIFA, it would be a shame if they would drop PES. We need the competition to improve Football games
