Scott Pilgrim vs. The World gets DLC

Knives Chau joins the fight.

New content is heading for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Ubisoft has announced.

According to Joystiq, the extra content adds Scott's jilted ex, Knives Chau, as a playable character. You'll get two brand new game modes as well: dodgeball and free-for-all arena battle.

The DLC pack will also fix a few bugs, tweak the difficulty balancing and allow for drop in/drop out co-op play.

Ubisoft's movie tie-in scored a respectable 7/10 at the hands of Eurogamer's Simon Parkin when it arrived on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in August.

The DLC will be available some time in November, costing 160 MSP (£1.36 / €1.92) on XBLA. The PSN price tag hasn't been confirmed yet, but it will sell for $1.99 in the US.

Sounds cool although probably should be free. Still 160points is not alot at least.

Shame there won't be online co-op. Hard to understand that decision, but it's a solid game nonetheless.

I agree with Firefly. It probably should be free, or at least the fixes should be free, but for less than two pounds/euros/dollars, it's hard to scream "RIP OFF!!"

Buuut...wasn't Knives Chau supposed to be a character that could be unlocked by buying the Blu-Ray/DVD of The Movie?

The fixes are free. The paid DLC is for Knives and the 2 added game modes.

    Re-read the Joystiq story:

Ubisoft announced at its 2010 Digital Day event yesterday that DLC is inbound for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game in November to coincide with the film's release on DVD and Blu-ray. The content will include a new playable character, Knives Chau, along with two new modes, a free-for-all arena battle with weapons (a sort of "lite" version of Super Smash Bros.) and dodgeball. The asking price will be $1.99 on PSN (160 Microsoft Points on XBLM).

At the same time, a patch will be issued to address difficulty balancing (making "average joe" a little more forgiving), squash several bugs and introduce drop-in/drop-out co-op.

The film was surprisingly good, and the game was actually not too bad.

Best bit of the game? Get you, your girlfriend and your two mates, to hold down the taunt button to burst into a band attack and inflict massive damage.
