Two Worlds II UK release still TBC
As SouthPeak delays US launch.
SouthPeak has officially delayed the US release of Two Worlds II from October 2010 to January 2011.
But the state of the UK launch remains unclear: a spokesperson told Eurogamer yesterday the date was still "TBC".
Commenting on the US delay, SouthPeak said: "There's a reason for everything and although we feel that the game is truly at AAA level, we want Two Worlds II to be absolutely flawless when it launches in the North American market."
Two Worlds II was poised for an autumn 2010 release, but when pressed by Eurogamer earlier this month SouthPeak and retailers were non-committal.
Soon after, European publisher Zuxxez announced a one month delay for Two Worlds II on the continent and pushed the date back to 21st October.
Things aren't exactly looking up.
Two Worlds II is a fantasy RPG for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Here you'll find swords, shields, magic spells and potions. There's also an exciting co-operative multiplayer element stuffed in. What's more, the game's "surprisingly good", according to Christian Donlan's preview for Eurogamer earlier this year.
Two words: rat punching.

Gothic 4, Fable 3 , FO3 and Cataclysm may well steal their thunder.

Two world looks rather sharp and has had some positive previews. Guess it's just a case of hiding from next months heavy hitters. Now Q1 2011 is shaping up to something epic.

The excuses Southpeak have given are complete toss. If the game has gone gold, then it's 'finished' (bar small patches etc.). Topware have stated they put all their efforts into not making the same mistakes as the first game, which was very buggy. Southpeak have nothing to do with development, fixing or patching the game. Their job is to make copies and sell the game. They have no way of doing "Heavy Q&A" and making the game "Flawless" (their words), unless they take the game to another developer (highly illegal!).
It's also a big 'up yours' to Topware/Reality Pump and Zuxxez, to imply that the game isn't ready until Southpeak say they are.
The official and unofficial forums are already awash with US/UK/Australian gamers saying they will import is from the EU (multilanguage), which means the developer still gets their money for making what sounds like a really impressive game, and Southpeak lose money for having the business acumen and common sense of a dog turd.

With The Witcher 2 on the way, the sequel to one of the best RPGs-that-isn't-by-BioWare, I find it hard to get excited about any other RPG really, Gothic 4, Two Worlds II or whatever.
