PC version of WRC demo released

Find out how good the game rally is.

Black Bean Games has released a PC version of the demo for new rally racer WRC.

The demo is already available on Xbox Live. PlayStation Network users have another two days to wait before they can get their hands on it.

As Black Bean is keen to point out, WRC is the only game to feature the real 2010 WRC drivers, cars and events. The full banana will be released on 8th October.

In the meantime, you might like to read our hands-on preview of the game or take a look at the video below.

This video is Clarkson-free, guaranteed.

The snow levels look really good. I might want the full banana.

Remember (as people playing the console demo discovered) to adjust some of the car settings and increase the distance at which the co-driver announces the corners.

Agreed, remove the auto brake assist entirely, and have him call out the corners ASAP.

Was having great fun with this last night in cockpit view.

Tried this PC demo over the weekend. Took me a while to work out how to enable the controller from the options but once that was done I was able to play it properly (the keyboard is a ghastly way to play ANY racing game IMO). The handling felt somewhat heavier (laggier?) than the 360 version I'd tried the week before, although I might have been imagining it, and apart from the resolution/framerate improvement it's the same competent but wholly unremarkable and dated experience as on the consoles.

At just £18 on the PC it seems like a fair budget game (much like Blackbean's SBK games are) but I'd be loathe to pay £37+ for the same game on the consoles as it offers nothing I haven't seen before... in 2005!

Care to fill me in? Can't figure it out for the life of me.

Great, I thought this won't be out on PC! Starting download now...

Just played the PC demo, and it's really awful. Can't use my Driving Force Pro, can't turn the Nazi-level traction control off. I will try the PS3 version, but the PC demo is an epic fail. If the PS3 version is as bad, then forget it and hope for GT5 to be a decent rally sim.
