Capcom teaming up with Level-5

Street Fighter x Professor Layton?

Capcom and Dragon Quest IX developer Level-5 are teaming up on a mystery project.

Capcom boss Keiji Inafune told Japanese business site Diamond Online (translated by Andriasang) that he had approached Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino to ask if they could work together.

"Right now, the two of us, with our staff, are working together on some truly interesting things. Even though Mr. Hino is younger, he's someone I respect. I wanted to try working with him, so I contacted him."

It seems that Inafune is quite the fan of Hino's work at Level-5. "The thing I most respect about Hino is his work ethic. Before I met Hino, I had confidence in the amount of work I was doing, and even thought that maybe I was the hardest-working person in the game industry. But after meeting him, I thought, 'I'm probably not number one.'"

Inafune is dead right – Hino knows how to crack the whip. His Fukuoka-based studio has a new Professor Layton title heading to the DS on 22nd October and another in the works for the 3DS. It has also just announced Inazuma Eleven Strikers for Wii and is wrapping up work on the gorgeous Studio Ghibli collaboration Ni no Kuni: The Another World for DS and PlayStation 3.

No further details of the pair's project have been announced yet.
