F1 2010 Codies' "biggest" release ever
Predicts two million unit global launch.
British publisher Codemasters reckons F1 2010 will be the biggest release in the company's history.
F1 2010, due out on PC (digital download only unless you pre-order), PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, was developed by Codemasters' Birmingham studio using the EGO game technology platform – the same used for the creation of Colin McRae: DiRT 2 and Race Driver: GRID.
"F1 2010... is set to be a two million unit worldwide launch when it races off the starting grid this week," reads a press release sent out today.
"Representing Codemasters' biggest release to date, F1 2010 is now shipping to retail stores in North America and will release across mainland Europe and PAL territories on Thursday 23rd September with a UK street date on Friday 24th September."
Joao Diniz Sanches reviewed for Eurogamer and awarded the racer an impressive 8/10.
Launch trailer is below.

WTF. I understand it's the future but still... Is getting a disc a pre-order incentive now?

What gives? honestly, why?? I am genuinly confused.
I am fortunate enough to have pre-orderded (anyone interested still can at Shopto.net, only £19.79) NOT a sales pitch but i would hate anyone to lose out. it is also more than £10 cheaper than digital distribution! Now there is a surprise! NOT!

They used to let you specify a UK PAL copy only, but with that option now gone, it was a no sale from me.
If I'm buying a game from a UK store, I at least expect it to be solely for my region, otherwise there could be all kinds of potential problems when it comes to DLC, selling it on, or trading it in.
A shame, as ShopTo were bloody cheap as well.
I know that Zavvi were a similar price, but they're not great at getting games to you in time, worse still if a weekend gets in the way.
I went with GameGears in the end, never used them before, so fingers crossed it all works out.

Have you not been watching for the past few seasons? Stuff you would think would be ridiculously inplausible if you saw it in a movie seems to happen on a monthly basis in F1. How Lewis won the Championship in the final few seconds, Jenson's banzai overtaking race in Brazil last season, and the way this season is shaping up is pretty impressive.
Viewing figures would suggest it's pretty darn healthy, and the interest in the games has always been high due to their relative rarity.

And we all know who's going to ''win'' don't we?
Wish they had released this during the usual early summer game drought though. Can't find the time to fit this into my gaming time at the mo.

Who or which?
For me it's not a question of which version will "win", but how big a difference there is. Most multi-platform titles these days are virtually identical and often just have minor and different advantages and disadvantages, but if the difference is big, I would like to know before deciding on which to get since I have both consoles.
