To include Mario History book/soundtrack.

Japanese retailers have reportedly leaked news that Nintendo will launch a Wii version of the Super Nintendo's Super Mario All-Stars compilation next month.

Andriasang reports that retailers were briefed on Super Mario Collection Special Pack today and that it is a revival of All-Stars, which included Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 and 3 plus The Lost Levels on a single cartridge.

Apparently the game is due out on 21st October for 2500 yen (Ł19 / €23) and will also come with a Super Mario History 1985-2010 booklet and a soundtrack CD covering the entire series right up to Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Nintendo hasn't confirmed those details, but has confirmed other details that reportedly came from the same briefing, including Japanese dates for Golden Sun and Kirby's Epic Yarn.

If it's for the Wii how are we going to play it? Wii doesn't do cartridge.

If they included Super Mario World and Mario 64 it might be worth it. They did do a version of Mario All-Stars with Mario World in it, but they cut back slightly on the background graphics for that. It would be nice if the new version doesn't do that.

If they feel the need to charge that much for it, go all the way to Mario Sunshine. SMB 1,2,3, Lost Levels, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, SM64 and Sunshine would be a perfect collection. Ooh, and SMRPG too. And then I want a race car and a...

How about we get some dates for bloody Europe! argh! it annoys me! Looks like Japan/USA are getting both Golden Sun & Kirby in 2010..when we have to wait till 2011! Yeah thats really fair...

Unless...Europe are getting the 3DS this year?

It better have:

Mario All Stars
The NES versions of everything in All Stars
Super Mario World
Yoshi's Island
Mario 64

...at an absolute minimum for them to avoid being criminals for not releasing SNES All Stars on the Virtual Console. Bonus points go to them if they include the GB Super Mario Land games. Extra bonus points if it allows you to play all but Mario 64 with just the Wiimote.

Not sure where all the confusion is coming from. All Stars originally came on a single cartridge, and this game is a revival of that. Obviously if it's going to retail it will be on a Wii-disc.
