Against my better judgement, the longer it goes on, I'm finding it harder to resist PS+. They had to offer a dynamic fish tank theme, didn't they?!

Free full version of Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty? My live sub is up and I'm more tempted to spend my subscription cash on PS+.

Same as ^^, was reluctant on the whole PS+ thingy but it gets better and better. Maybe give it a three-month try to see what it's like.

I really want it, but currently most of what it is offering I already have, or, it is so old that I don't want....
Where's the Joe Danger discounts? Scott Pilgrim discounts?
    Anything modern?

    :(

Very pleased with PS+ so far, and the full season of Sam & Max again makes this month all good in the hood.

Great stuff I wouldnt spend full price on (like Abe since I already did that back in the day).

Wonder if quest for booty is also free when I renew from 3 months to a year.

Pretty good. Sam and Max alone make it nice list.

Hope it pushes Microsoft to offer more as well - 4 discounts per week are not bad at all, but it does not sound that good compared to what Sony offers (then again Sony has little choice if they want to sell PS+ which pretty much only does discounts and "free" games).

I buckled last week and got it.

Admitadly it wasn't a great month but i've played everything on it and so i've got my moneys worth. Although i'm ashamed to say that i'm a graphics whore and not sure how much i can enjoy Ps1 games because of such a fickle thing.

Overall i'm pleased with the service, excelent value for money. i mean this month it's sam and max the entire season for free and thats £20 on its own a years sub is £40.

There's a 'T' for turbo missing from that 'abbreviation'.

Remember that R&C is only available for free to those who purchase a yearly subscription between now and the PSN+ update for next month. You won't get it if you buy a three month sub for example. You also don't get it if you've already subscribed.

Sony mentioned on the eublog that the original sign up offer of little big plannet was extended to include anyone who signed up in August too:

"I hope everyone who has signed up during Aug has enjoyed the continued LBP sign up offer?! If you signed up early in the month (or are in German, Greece or South Africa) and didn’t get your copy of LBP in the Plus section straight away, then don’t worry, you will be emailed a voucher for this as soon as possible."

I fall into this category and have not had a voucher through yet, is anyone else in the same boat and got their voucher?

Nothing to be ashamed of IMO. I find loading the PS1 games on my PSP to be the best compromise, the small screen size means that there's little upscaling required - Abe's Odyssey looks pretty good on it.

The discounts n freebies are only great if you haven't already got them, still holding off psplus as I goddamned spent too much up to recent times.

So to gain most advantage, need to go total cold turkey for months and then subscribe!

So the lesson is not to buy anything off psn store unless via subscription's offerings.

I'm holding out on getting PS+ at the moment, though I'm very tempted by Sam and Max and Ratchet and Clank offerings, makes it seem a steal at £40.
  • SeesThroughAll #15 1 year ago

Nice offers, but I still see PS+ as an expensive rental service.
  • callum9999 #16 1 year ago

Expensive? Although I'm not tempted enough to subscribe yet, I can't see how £3.33 (or £2.50 for me with discounted PSN vouchers) a month is expensive for a rental service. Especially as you also get a free game to keep.

Granted you can't compare it to lovefilm etc. as you can't choose what you want, but its still significantly cheaper.

It is good but it is annoying that I already have most of what they want to give away. I wish you could gift your old copy or the one to someone on your friends list.
  • man.the.king #18 1 year ago

    @septimus

"I wish you could gift your old copy or the one to someone on your friends list."

That is a very good feature indeed!

Why don't you put up a suggestion on their PSN Blog website (there is a site there that allows you to leave your ideas, I believe).

I believe that what you suggested would be a very useful feature, especially for PSN+ subscribers (like me) who already have several old PSN games that are being made available on PSN+. I would like to use the PSN+ sub to access those games and to "give away" my downloaded game to a friend/family/relative (Note: with the caveat that a game cannot be "given back", otherwise this would just encourage "lending" or splitting costs).
