Chime heading to PC in September

Valve's "Still Alive" added to soundtrack.

OneBigGame has announced that music-based puzzle game Chime will be released for PC via Steam on 6th September.

The PC version is also set to receive an exclusive bonus - the "Still Alive" song from the soundtrack to Valve's Portal.

Chime was developed by Zoe Mode and a percentage of proceeds go to OneBigGame's charity partners Starlight Children's Foundation and Save the Children.

"Valve's generous donation of Portal's classic 'Still Alive' is another great bonus for which we're very grateful," said OneBigGame's Martin de Ronde.

"The PC version of the game features all the great tracks from the original version and now also offers fans of Chime and fans of the original Portal soundtrack the opportunity to sample this song in Chime's unique remixing game mechanics."

The objective in Chime is to place tiles so they create solid oblong blocks called Quads, which earn points. Like Lumines, there's a short period after you make a Quad in which you can add additional blocks to it to increase its size and points haul.

Quads are then converted into Coverage, which means they stay on the screen for the rest of your session. You can still build over areas that have been converted into Coverage - the idea is that you should have covered every square of the board at least once by the end.

Doing it for the kids.

This is an incredibly chilled out game on the xbox so not sure how well it will convert to the PC but its certainly good that this fun game is going to reach a bigger audience now. Will probably end up buying it for Still Alive :)

Hopefully the unique way that they are contributing to their charity partners as well might make people think twice about pirating this one as well.

    Edit: chilling = chilled out

How is it chilling? I mean, I'd use the word chilling to describe a horror game with a really uneasy atmosphere, not a block-based puzzle game with dance music.

EDIT: Ah I see you meant chilled out. Makes sense now :-)

I'm impressed they managed to get a Moby track considering what he have said about computer games, waste of time etc.

The track he contributed is a waste of time. Utter crap lumped in with much better tracks that make up the other levels.

A great game, just a shame there's only a few songs on it. I must make time to play it some more actually. I used to use it to relax after some frantic FPS action, but have got out of the habit.

Personally, i think it needs more Hartnoll tracks as I loved that the most. The moby one is definitely the worst of them IMO. Don't suppose there's any chance of the still alive track being down-loadable for us 360 users? Please.....

    Chime is a wonderful game.

One issue. 800mb size. 5 songs.

    WHERE ARE THE OTHERS? ;O

Amazing game. It is such a shame that there are only 5 songs in it. This would be an ideal candidate for some DLC, so please get Still Alive out there for 360!
