Single-player add-on for PS3 and 360.

2K has announced that the single-player story-driven Minerva's Den add-on for BioShock 2 will be released next Tuesday, 31st August.

Minerva's Den will go for $9.99 on PlayStation Network and 800 Microsoft Points (Ł6.80 / €9.60) on Xbox Live Marketplace. A PC version will follow later.

The DLC consists of three new areas to explore, home to six more Little Sisters, and can be tackled even if you haven't finished the game.

If you already own Protector's Trials, you can also buy a new Master Protector tonic at any Gatherer's Garden - it speeds up harvest times for Little Sisters you're protecting and amps up the amount of ADAM they collect.

2K president Christoph Hartmann recently described Minerva's Den as "a fitting conclusion to the BioShock 2 saga".

I'd be tempted if I had only finished BS2 recently, but I find it hard to get into DLC once a game has moved out of my immediate consciousness. Part of the enjoyment is the emotional atmosphere and so on - once that has passed, the DLC for a lot of games feels a little thin (even if its a good quality).

Its because prices are only released for the US. Live is easy to work out, it's 800 points wherever you are. For PSN it's not a straight conversion, you don't know how much it will be until they release it here, it could be Ł6.29 or Ł7.99.

So I get extra content with the extra content if I buy extra extra content? This dlc business is getting more and more convoluted/greedy by the day.
