Microsoft to keynote Tokyo Game Show

Japanese exec and MGS' Phil Spencer.

Microsoft will deliver the first of this year's Tokyo Game Show keynote addresses, according to show organisers CESA (thanks Andriasang).

Home & Entertainment Division chief Takashi Sensui will be joined by Microsoft Game Studios' corporate vice president Phil Spencer to talk about "Xbox 360's Vision and 2010's Strategy".

The keynote takes place on the morning of the first business day at TGS, 16th September, and will be followed by a second keynote, which has yet to be announced.

In previous years the Tokyo Game Show keynote has seen Satoru Iwata of Nintendo unveil the Wiimote, but usually it's regional announcements. We try to get excited anyway, and will be covering it live as usual next month.

We'll probably hear jack from Nintendo this year, as i reckon they'll be announcing their biggest news on September 29th! This is the day Europeans will cry..as we'll be LAST to get the 3DS and the only place to get it in 2011. So my excitement is kinda dimming...

I bet they try to "energise" their "massive installed fanbase" and their "new casual market sectors" with "the amazing Kinect"...

same marketting shit - different country

    YOU are the controller!
In games YOU don't want to play!

Last Guardian will eclipse everything shown :o)

Nah seriously MS will probably try and raise Kinect awareness so be interesting to see how they approach doing so

Not exactly. It has a very dedicated hardcore base that plays stuff like the cave shooters, idolmaster, dream c club and it has a load of visual novels on it along with the other stuff MS puts out on it (Hooray for simple PC ports). Compared to the other consoles, its not a massive success. But the amount of software the people who have the console buys is much higher than the other consoles which tends to keep MS afloat.

So what I am saying is that if idolmaster kinect is announced, they are going to clean up.

I'd really like to think that they will reveal some decent-looking first party core games, but I know the reality will be yet another wankfest about kinect and how they are "revolutionising" the industry.

I doubt they will like all the Kinect crap that they are going to have rammed down their throats at TGS.

They are going to clean up if they have Kinect supported semi-eroge like Dream C Club or Idolmaster sequels. Or hell, Kinect support for any VN would be a killer ap for them.
