DJ Hero 2 song list revealed

The 105 tunes making up the mixes.

Activision has unveiled the list of "105 speaker-blaring tracks and club-shaking anthems that will be transformed into over 80 unique mixes" for DJ Hero 2.

FreeStyleGames' upcoming rhythm-action sequel boasts tunes from the likes of Eminem, Lady Gaga and David Guetta, as we discovered when we first saw the artist list, but now we know which songs are involved too.

The list of actual mixes remains a secret, but Activision will be posting "mashup of mashups" videos on its Facebook page between now and 21st September and you can win prizes by identifying the mixes within that period.

They should really make the RnB type songs on their own separate version so I don't have to buy them!

    Not bad at all!

I question whether it's really necessary to have three Lady Gaga songs, but there's lots more there to enjoy. Can I choose to mix Under Mi Sleng Teng and Adamski's Killer? Or does the game not work like that?

    Snow - “Informer”

    SOLD!

Pretty good tracklist overall. Glad there's only one Dizze Rascal track. I hate him.

    Good track list

    Warren G - Regulate
DJ Shadow feat Q Tip (DJ Fresh remix)
    Talib Kweli
    Afrika Bambaata
    etc

I was excited when they announced Deadmau5 was in the game. I'm now bitterly disappointed that they have chosen only two of his most commercial and charty tracks. One of the best dance producers in the last 10 years with an archive of stunning tracks and they choose possibly his worst two.

Who gives shit about genres. It's about mashing up some big tunes.

Please leave your music snobbery at the door.

So has it been confirmed that the decks themselves are gonna be improved or are they exactly the same?

Nice to see a bit of UK Drum and Bass being represented by Dillinja and Skibba.

Nice to see a bit of UK Drum and Bass being represented by Dillinja and Skibba.

Only one track in the whole game though (just like the first game).

The good tracks are far outweighed by the absolute bilge of pop and R'n'B tracks. Massive failure for me, which is a shame as I really liked the first game.

DJ Shadow was most of the reason I got the first one. A couple more from him would have been nice, but they picked a particularly good pair. Rest seems alright, and I'm particularly happy at the absence of any Black Eyed Peas tracks.

I thought the core gameplay of DJHero was based on mixing two tracks, and that each of the tracks on the first one took the format of X vs. Y. If each of these songs plays in isolation, how does that work?

Or is this 105 a total list of tracks that can be mixed together (a few "opponent" options per track would be a great idea, but I doubt that is what is going on).

I think it's great. You never know what the mashups will be, I ended up really liking one of the Rihanna mixes in the first one. That said, I'd love for all the electro to be mashed up or a meagmix.

Would have preferred to see a game just based on Hip Hop. I think that would work better. I don't really care for DJing that much but if this had a real strong track listing with Old Skool Hip Hop mixed with some of the new stuff, then I'd probably get it.

When I see tracks featuring Snoop Dogg, Regulate with Warren G and Nate Dogg...it get all nostalgic and nostalgia works. It's why Guitar Hero worked so well.

As an Industrial and EBM DJ, I officially say - MEH.
  • Ceelion #15 1 year ago

No scratch perverts? No sale. (I lie, I'm probably going to buy it, but even so)
  • Fatbobbybob #16 1 year ago

Justice - "Waters Of Nazareth” This should be interesting. One of my favourite Justice tracks. Overall think it's a really strong list. OK just can't really compare it against the RB3 list but still i would like to see some more forward looking dancey tracks in RB. Imagine having to drum to Pendulum for example.
  • ScottyXTUK #17 1 year ago

Not my cup of tea most of these songs, main reason why I'd never buy a DJ Hero game. I can't stand most of the tat on that song list.

"As an Industrial and EBM DJ, I officially say - MEH."

You mean "as someone who's skills are little further than being able to queue up tracks then attempt to 'mix' them (move the crossfader), I officially say -MEH"
I apologise if you do mix your Industrial/ebm in the more challenging style of the mashup, but I have yet to see any 'industrial and ebm' DJ bother. In your defence (and the games) The genre of ebm and industrial doesn't exactly have the properties required for mashups does it? so in response to your comment, I officially say - MEH.
  • kinky_mong #19 1 year ago

    What the hell is EBM?!
  • DAN.E.B #20 1 year ago

I would buythis but my deck dont work properly and its my second one ive got two guitars that dont work either.
If only they would put a bit more effort in making decent quality equipment.
