Forza 3 Ultimate Collection sighted

In Aussie and German rating databases.

Microsoft will release an "Ultimate Collection" version of Forza Motorsport 3, judging by its appearance on the Australian classification database.

The Ultimate Collection showed up on the OFLC website (thanks Joystiq) the other day and reveals the game was classified on 19th August.

It's not the first we've heard of Ultimate Collection, either. A bit of digging reveals that it also appeared on the German USK database earlier this month for a short period.

There's no sign of it in the UK's BBFC listings nor the US' notoriously trigger-happy ESRB equivalent, and Microsoft has not commented.

At E3 in June Microsoft unveiled a new Forza Motorsport game for Kinect and said it would be released in 2011, so perhaps this Ultimate Collection is a stopgap aimed at diverting some attention away from Sony's Gran Turismo 5 in November.

Microsoft and developer Turn 10 have supported the game with a number of premium downloadable content updates since its October 2009 release, so it would not be surprising to see those bundled together.

GT5 just made Forza 3 obsolete.

    GT5 will probably make Forza 4, 5, & 6 obsolete as well.

    Sorry Turn 10.
  • theonlyix #2 2 years ago

LOL to BAM. You are such a troll. You obviously have no friggin clue ...... Forza 3 still is the king, and until we actually see GT5, and play it, there is no point in jabbing about it.

From the looks and feel of prologue, there is great chance that forza will still be king come november.....
  • coolbritannia #3 2 years ago

    I don't think you've played Forza 3. Or GT5. So be quiet.
  • GR1up #4 2 years ago

GT5 is a juggernaut and it's coming and you ain't gonna stop it ! Forza Motorsport prepare to be pissed all over.

"GT5 is a juggernaut and it's coming and you ain't gonna stop it ! Forza Motorsport prepare to be pissed all over."

Well considering that in the time we've waited for GT5, Turn 10 have released 2 very good Forzas with the last one being released almost a year ago, I'm not sure why you're being a dick and taking the piss to be honest.
  • GR1up #6 2 years ago

Yes but the GT series has always been about Quality not Quantity.
  • metalangel #7 2 years ago

    You never played GT2 then.

GT5 vs ultimate Forza 3 who will win ?

I predict GT5 could even outsell GT3 (total sales on ps2 15 million)
  • tachometer #9 2 years ago

I presume this will contain all the DLC, which indicates there will be no more DLC on the way which is a shame as Turn 10 promised another Jalopnic pack with some classics
  • NotSoSlim #10 2 years ago

Don't understand how Prologue is mentioned when that released 2 years ago.

Anyway good deal if you have not picked it up I guess, just a shame that Kinect enabled Forza will be next game out of the gate
  • El-Dev #11 2 years ago

I don't mind the DLC car packs, in fact I've bought quite a few of them. What I don't get is why they don't update the game to show you the car on the online races instead of a black Bora. Bit daft.

Guessing they're gonna try and steal a bit of thunder from the GT5 release with this, don't think it will though.
  • GingerPixel #12 2 years ago

If you download the free sample car then all the cars from that pack show in multiplayer.
  • NotSoSlim #13 2 years ago

Everyone who wanted Forza has it imo as it's been cheap for ages. Thought kinect in November was meant to steal GT5's thunder?

This can't be more than £24.99 surely
  • coomber #14 2 years ago

    @NotSoSlim

There are plenty of people who haven't got round to buying Forza 3 yet. And some of them - i.e. me - held out knowing that there was obviously going to be a new version which bundled in all the DLC. Whether I'll get this ahead of GT5 though...very tricky decision.

    Who fucking cares anymore?

I enjoy Forza a lot but I think the index scoring when you tune cars doesn't really work well when you race against other tuned cars online.
For example It's quite difficult to accept that a 3 tuned VW Golf were fighting for first place while I was struggling with in a tuned Ferrari at the back of the pack which I thought was plain BS and damn right annoying so much so that in protest I tuned a crappy VW Rabbit!!! I painted it a dull cacky brown colour, raced with that and was getting in the top 3 to the disgust of other racers who then wanted to kick me out the game. Well I don't blame them, it's truly disheartening when you have a love for some car porn which is then completely destroyed by shopping run-abouts that look like they are being driven by teenagers with Bling wheels and outrageously tacky bodykits.
Hilarious in a way and SAD at the same time.

So for those buying Forza 3 to play online , be prepared to be owned by trumped up fart boxes on wheels.
Looking forward to Gran Turismo but will endeavour to enjoy Forza 3 in the meantime....GO VW RABBIT YEEEEHAAAAAAA!

"Yes but the GT series has always been about Quality not Quantity. "

That may be true about the graphics but I have always found the actual racing in GT to be pretty poor due to the brainless AI

Cant see what all the fuss is about. Also I dont see this release as disrupting GT5 (so GT fans dont get your nickers in a twist). If you are a big car fan and own an Xbox you would most likely have already purchased Forza. If you are some that havent, then a collection edition would probably be a very good deal. I think its unlikely to impact sale of GT, Kinect has a little bit more of a chance of doing that because of the cost involved (people cannot afford everything in one go).. but again are Kinect users and GT5 users going to be generally the same group... dont know.

What would concern me would be what the hell is the kinect version of Forza going to turn out to be like..
  • linea #19 2 years ago

@chromemud they've just introduced a stock production car online mode , so everyone can race on an even playing field with a good variety of cars
  • ChromeMud #20 2 years ago

    @linea

A stock production car mode sounds good.
Hope this new Class gets some action unlike the 'Hardcore no Assists ' which no-one seems to like!
Lovin' my new Zonda... even though it's dead slow in Forza , must re-tune ...... :))
  • Caimbeul #21 2 years ago

Forza never had the bathurst track so it was always doomed to fail for me :-(
  • metalangel #22 2 years ago

@Chromemud: did you tweak any of the settings after tuning it? The index rating doesn't take that into account (it can't) so even with your chavmobiles you could have wildly different performance just by fiddling with the downforce and tire settings and suspension. I tend to tune my cars so I can *just* make the back step out if I overdo it, so I can drive hard but without being on a knife edge.

@Caimbeul: No kidding! All those V8 Supercars without a home, what a disgrace. They're fantastic to drive anyway (use one of the Monaros for my R3 races) but wish they'd included the standard road models too.

Sounds good. Don't own a 360 myself but do have a PS3 so GT5 is day one, still for 360 owners that haven't played/got Forza 3 this looks like it's worth picking up.
