Retailer outs map pack.

Zombies will turn up in Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops via map packs, a retailer has confirmed.

The popular zombie mode from Treyarch's last COD, World at War, will return according to a listing on US shop Best Buy's website.

The Hardened Edition, announced yesterday alongside the Prestige Edition, will feature "four Zombie Maps Pack made famous from COD: World at War".

Since the Prestige Edition comes with all the gubbins in the Hardened Edition, we can assume zombie mode will feature in that, too.

Black Ops will be released for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 9th November.

The CoD Zombies were fun, in fact, they were the best thing about World At War. Be interesting to see if they expand on it, or just recycle the same stuff from the last game. Who do we blame? Treyarch for being lazy copycats of Infinity Ward, or Activision for being greedy, money grabbing vultures who belive the future of games isn't in originality, but in recycling the same cr@p because every 13 year old in the country can't get enough?

Its got fuck all to do with connection speeds. I have 120 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up and MW netcode was the biggest failure in terms of playable connections that I've ever experienced. Client/Server only works whenever the server isnt in the hands of a 'client'.

With MW2 and Left For Dead 2 at the top and tenth rankings respectively in most played on live last week, I think it's safe to say that you two are reporting problems that for the over-whelming majority are non-existant.

Well this is good news. I had alot of fun with the zombie map packs but i already payed for them on COD: World at War. I sure as hell arent paying for the same maps again.

Oh and i spent many an hour on L4D 1 and 2.

I can't them flogging old maps (one of which was 'free' with WaW) so maybe it's a re-skin job or it's saying (in clunky fashion) that the zombie mode was made popular from World at War so it's back with four maps to play. I go for option b).

Alright so CoD Zombies was no L4D but it sure as hell was a fun alternative. Pretty sure my mates and I played that mode more than we did the actual co-op.

I knew some condescending arsehole would say something like that. I've had broadband from a very good provider with a very fast down and up speed at both properties I've lived in since the release of the Left 4 Dead games, and it is the only game I play that has a disproportionate amount of lag, disconnections and other game spoiling irritants due to it's shocking online implementation.

As much as I love the game I've become sick of having to put up with these problems when playing with friends who I'm able to play any other game with without issue.

I just don't get it. Why go to all the effort of making a real-world based FPS with real-world based situations, scenarios and stories then introduce zombies into the mix?

If you wanted to make a zombie game...wait for it.... MAKE A ZOMBIE GAME.

Not that this affects my purchase decision one jot, but have developers really so few ideas?

Dont blame Valve for your bad experience. I have a very bad connection at both my partners and my house, yet have never had any lag, disconnects, etc on either L4D. I wouldnt go to W@W regardless as imo it was shit, zombies or not.

These zombies will add a lot of value to the game. I'm sure all call of duty WaW veterans remember how fun that was. The official call of duty: black opswebsite doesn't say anything about DLC zombies, I don't want to invest money on the Prestige Edition
