What?

Activision has released a single-player demo of gargantuan first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 some nine months after the game launched.

The demo, which is available to download from PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, features the Cliffhanger level in its entirety.

Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 is the most successful game of all time. It crashed past the $1bn mark after only two months on sale.

Which makes the decision to release a demo all the more puzzling. But there you go.

The next Call of Duty, Black Ops, is coming to PS3, 360, PC and Wii on 9th November.

I guess they figured CoD is CoD so a demo for MW2 would work just as well for black ops.

Not for a very long time. I think Black Ops may be the last of the 'real world' ones. But didn't Activision commission a load of other names including something like Call Of Duty: Space War or something like that?

I haven't been so let down by a game since I bought 24hr Le Mans for the Speccy and realised the graphics on the back of the box were for the arcade game. Mmmm yellow monochrome...

Hey Cadence, that was Wec Le Mans on the Speccy right?... I bought that too!
Like you say, it was abit of a shock once it loaded...haha

Although Outrun/Enduro Racer/Super Hangon/Chase HQ were a few others that baited that same trap.... (Which I'm ashamed to say I fell for time and time again..

I've never played either MW game, so i tried the demo today. Actually, I didnt like it much, couldn't really get into the demo level, got frustrated, deleted it. Since all you hear about is multiplayer MW, a demo of that would've been more interesting.

Modern Warfare 3 will be released on 8th November! It's actually the 8th main Call of Duty game, and the fifth developed by Infinity Ward. Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer will debut at the Call of Duty XP convention on September 2 and I'm betting that they will show all the weapons and perks of MW3.
