Download LittleBigPlanet cheap on PSN

Modern Warfare 2 demo out, too.

Eurogamer's 2008 Game of the Year, LittleBigPlanet, can be bought and downloaded today from the PlayStation Store for £16.99/€26.99.

With over a year-and-a-half's worth of user-created content available for what was an already alluring package, we see no reason not to bite. Oli Welsh's original Eurogamer review should convince you. Incidentally, there's a sequel in development for this Christmas.

Also on the PS3 Store today sits a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Cliffhanger demo. We'd tell you what's in it, but we don't want to ruin the suspense.

Other bits and bobs of note are the Protector Trials add-on for BioShock 2, a fresh batch of special offers and Riiiiiidge Racer!

Plus, of course, there are more PSP comics available this week - including a free edition of Superman: War of the Supermen.

ah woulda rather had the download of LBP but I already have the disc. oh well. Tekken 2? that I will get thanks
  • Mkwone #2 2 years ago

I thought the LBP price was a bit high but looking online it seems most places have it a £20. In which case that's pretty decent.
  • Furfoot #3 2 years ago

i too have LBP on disc but i would be a perfect fit as a downloadable game. It lends itself perfectly to short bursts of play.

Any way for LBP owners to get this to play directly from HD?

any thoughts on Section 8? i passed on it a while back.

so that's another pass then :)

Wow. £17 for the GOTY edition of LBP? Thats awesome value. If only PSP games were as well priced, Id buy a hell of a lot more. Microsoft should take note too.

    No

I was thinking "meh... Ah that's to pricey for an old psp game..."

    And then...

"oh my god tekken 2" awesome!!

    LBP cheap on PSN? :/

I bought it brand new for £10 only a few months after it launched & that was over a year ago now. Unless its the GOTY edition - but even that can be found for about £15 im sure if you look around. Or it will be in a sale at some point even cheaper than that.

Sounds like a rip off to me. Just like everything on the 360's ridiculously overpriced GoD service.

What mifnick said. I just bought it two days ago for 8 quid.
Also killzone 2 for 8 quid (admittedly preowned) from game, and uncharted 2 for a tenner (again preowned) from game.
I only recently got my ps3 so I'm frequenting the preowned section of my local game shop quite a lot...

Just re-read this: "frequenting" "quite a lot"?? how the fuck can you frequent any other way?

Ridge racer launch psp game £15.99 = fuck off
  • NimbusTLD #11 2 years ago

Yay! I can now buy Solitaire for £2.49!
  • alcides #12 2 years ago

If it's from Game, it's always pre-owned, pre-unsealed or pre-smeared anyway. There's no difference, so why buy new? There's no "new'!
  • NotSoSlim #13 2 years ago

GOTY edition for £17 is cheap but I guess with no manual and case it could be cheaper.
  • neems #14 2 years ago

    TEKKEN 2! For very little!
  • ianegg #15 2 years ago

LBP can be had for £12 online right now, including a lovely box. TBH I prefer digital downloads; does this include the ability to play the game on 5 active PS3s?
  • Eraysor #16 2 years ago

And that sexy MNR patch too! Bumper day!
  • uncharted86 #17 2 years ago

I am pretty sure that it is the standard, not GOTY, edition of LBP on offer. It was the one being offered to early annual PS+ subscribers last month...
  • curtlikesmeat #18 2 years ago

Just for your information, LBP original was on Play for £12 eight months ago. No idea if it still is...
  • Macdory #19 2 years ago

HOw is that cheap - LBP can be bought at retail for £10
  • Rens11 #20 2 years ago

oooooooooh wats in the demo.....monthly prescription fee??
  • Kaminari #21 2 years ago

    Little Big Planet for £16.99/€26.99...

Right. As of now, £17=€20. Sony, what do you think we are? Idiots?

Besides, LBP is available in a box for as low as €13.
  • prionnsias #22 2 years ago

seriously thats a joke their getting a profit of about a six euro between sterling and euro
  • dr_shambles #23 2 years ago

MW2. Interesting. I'm sure Activision will let you download it, then retroactively charge you £20 in six months time.
  • banjo21 #24 2 years ago

LBG price is silly. Why is it so difficult for MS/Sony to understand that digital versions have to be 2/3 the price of boxed version at the most. You can nearly always sell the boxed version on for 1/3 to 1/2 the price you paid and thus there's no point buying digital unless the price is right.

For £9.99 its an instant digital impulse buy, at this prices its "well 'play etc haven't tempted me at that price, so why do it now when I wont even be able to sell on in a couple of months".
  • Soton4084 #25 2 years ago

You can pick LBP up in Cex for about £8, not sure how much the GOTY edition is. GAME sell it brand new for £19.99, so I doubt it's that much.
  • m0thr4 #26 2 years ago

Is this the same LBP that was promised as part of the PSN+ package? I went to the PSN+ page recently and it didn't appear in the list, so I didn't sign up.
  • Retroid #27 2 years ago

Wasn't that only for a limited time? Could be wrong.
